Inspired by Angie’s Friday ensemble post but dealing with warm weather, I decided to show you 3 warm weather vest outfits. The first ( #1/2) are a thrifted black utility vest with olive pants and silver loafer mules. Very comfortable.
The second (#3) was a rather sheer EF wrap top used as a vest with black crepe EF trousers and a silk print sleeveless top. Shoes are ancient Me Toos.
The third, is a black thrifted Talbots dress several years old, with a long black gillet from Target at least a yeas ago. (4-7). Shoes are silver pointy toe Coach loafers. .Vests are a great third piece for summer. I also like denim vests but both myblue and white ones need to be replaced with something longer. I have a lone silk off-white (bone) vest that is nicely swishy but is at the cleaners.
How do these look? My arms are not toned as much as I’d like. A lot of black here.

You have great style, as usual. My favorite is 1/2. The way you use metallics to bookend your hair as well as add interest to your outfit is just great.

Thank you, Cee, Minaminu, and suntiger. Do I need a longer chain to consider the leaf necklace in the third outfit to be a statement necklace? Otherwise it is a column of black. Minaminu, I would be so flattered if you copy any or all of these looks.

Catherine and Teresa, we must have cross posted. Thank you for voicing your thoughts. Black and silver is a fall back outfit for me. Easy especially for fall dressing.

All of these are terrific, Joy! You accessorize with jewelry like a pro - I love how you make it look like a perfect tidy bow on a package - never overdone, if that makes sense. Just the right amount of sparkle. I always feel like a disco ball... what is your secret?!

Nemosmom, I have been k own for a divorce ball look especially for a holiday occasion. My grandkids appreciate a bit of shine but I don’t have a secret. I just go with what feels right at the time. -

Thank you, Aquamarine, Shevia and Runcarla. I found that when my hair turned white, I could wear black better than I ever had before, but it can be too easy. I appreciate Angie’s thoughts on how to wear it successfully. Shevia, I tried to lighten the photo, but it is hard to see black on black. In the third photo I tried to show the transparency of the vest over the other black.
Runcarla, I now have two pair of Coach flats and find them very comfortable. The silver pointy toes flare out at the right place but are not good to wear to church because of the kneelers. -

Thank you, Astrid. I need to remember that there is nothing wrong with black ( except on a tropical beach vacation) and even then it is just different than everyone else.
