WIW: Pleated skirt for October. Featuring the rust top for Jenn

I have 2 pleated skirts. This one is part of my Autumn Capsule. The print is shades of orange, purple, greys, black and white. I am wearing it with a short sleeved sort of a pleated textured Madewell blouse. The flats are purple and the long cardi is Nordstrom’s Halogen linen. The skirt was thrifted and the necklace was garage sale. I can wear the skirt into colder weather with a sweater and boots or booties. I am wearing it casually around the house because there is no where to go and grandchildren have a cold and fever but tested negative for the virus so no playing on the floor. How did I do? Too dressed up yet?

Ooh, this is great. The colors in that skirt are fab! I like how you styled it too. You have a great closet, Joy!

Very beautiful! These colors and shapes are perfect for you, IMO. Sorry the kiddos are sick and can’t come around, but glad it’s not COVID. Take care!

Hope the grandkids get well soon. Great skirt outfit!

    You look fabulous Joy!

To me it does still look pretty dressy. I think if you changed the shoes to sneakers or boots that would change the vibe. But if you were comfortable and enjoyed wearing it, why change it.

Gorgeous skirt and perfect outfit - even if there is no events! Looks great on you. Hope kids will get better soon and come visit when it's safe!
    P.S. Great necklaces :) .

Fabulous outfit - definitely NOT too dressed up.  :)  I love the colors and the silhouette.  Looks stylish and comfy all at once.

Haha, I wouldn't call this dressed down but you do look fab!

  • Minaminu replied 3 years ago

Great outfit! Not overdressed but glam and confy!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Star, Liesbeth and Minaminu. It was a comfortable outfit and I need to get that skirt worn this month as I can’t figure out how to wear it in the spring..

Nailed it! YOU LOOK FAB! Such a great skirt shape for you! Comfy and dressy. The pleats lie flat and look flattering.

In the Spring, wear it with white and silver.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Angie, for the springtime idea. I can do that. This skirt has an elastic waist which helps the fit and comfort. I’d thought of pattern mixing with a floral top but that sounded quite busy.

I love this outfit. The skirt is beautiful and the rust top is perfect with it.

This is a perfect outfit, Joy. The skirt is TDF and the rust top is beautiful with it. I would happily steal this outfit for myself!

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

How fab is this! Sneakers would make it covid dressed down but totally unnecessary!

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

Wow, such a gorgeous print/pattern on that skirt and even a more fab look-you did a such a good job!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Bonnie, Nuancedream, Rachylou and lyn67. I will try the skirt with sneakers and have several possible tops and toppers to make different outfits. I may even have to see if I have a graphic tee That can be worn with this skirt, especially if it would work for Halloween
, maybe a black and white skeleton shirt with skull earrings?

  • Jenn replied 3 years ago

Pretty top! This looks like a church outfit to me...sort of that middle ground between everyday and really dressed-up. You should definitely try the skirt with a graphic tee!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you , Jenn. So far the graphic shirt that may look the best with this skirt is an old Hard Rock Cafe sweat shirt, I still need to try the Zombies with a hearse tee.

Beautiful skirt! And you look great in rust! You look effortlessly chic.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Preppy Pear. I long to look “effortlessly chic”!

  • Gigi replied 3 years ago

I love this on you! Such rich colors.

  • Mainelady replied 3 years ago

You look great! The skirt was a definite find and the fact that it still makes you happy, confirms that. With the shoes, I think it looks on the dressy side, but there is nothing wrong with that. You do you better than anyone else!
