WIW: Dark and silver

I had to try a quick version of Angie’s ensemble so here are the results. I wore this with my pink/blush JCrew wool stadium coat because my brighter coats are light weight trenches, not warm enough for ice and snow on the ground and 17 F. Please overlook the undone hair and makeup.
Sweater: black merino wool assymetrical EF pullover.
Jeans: old medium wash joggers
Silver watch, jewelry, hobo bag and ECCO sneakers. Grey and black striped wool socks.

Oh! Super cute and modern! I like this silhouette esp on you, Joy!

Your silver hair with the necklace against the black is stunning, Joy!

I love the asymmetrical pullover and your silver accessories and footwear! As a matter of fact, this inspires me to try a copycat with a black asymmetrical shirt I own.

I love the asymmetrical pullover and your silver accessories and shoes! This inspires me to try a copycat using a black asymmetrical shirt I own. My only pair of blue jeans are flares, so the silhouette will be different than your outfit's.

I love your outfit! You make me want to try asymmetrical tops more often. They look so good on you!

Looks great. Relaxed but refined and feminine.

Cool sweater, fab silver accessories, and pink coat? Oh my… I love it!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Rachylou, Windchime and Mainelady, I really like the assymetrical silhouette as I have an assymetrical body, so it seems appropriate.
Windchime, Angie's ensemble looks like the pants are flared, so your outfit will be closer to her idea for the ensemble than mine is.
Jussie, I love "relaxed, but refined and feminine". Thank you. That should be my style moniker.
Thank you, JAlieen. You can do navy or denim with black and a pink coat very well from your closet.

    YOU SUPER CUTE URBAN LADY.

  • kellygirl replied 6 years ago

Ooh, I love this, Joy. I think it's one of my favorite casual outfits on you. It's simple and modern. SO pretty!

Super cute with the metallic bag and shoes!

  • unfrumped replied 6 years ago

I really the asymmetrical sweater with the simple tapers style of the joggers.
The dark socks with the light metallic shoes kinda bother me, but I know I’d have to wear socks in cold weather, and want to extend season of wears of lighter shoes. What to do? I wonder if
I would prefer jean- colored socks but then black is more sophisticated. Hmm. I’m glad you charged ahead without noodling over that!

Love the top on you! You look fab!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Mirjana and Cardiff girl. The jeans are even unexpected to me but are extra warm and perfect for a day on the floor with a toddler racing Cars and playing with Duplos while trying to keep Maggie from walking through the middle of the "parked cars" and destroying the race track and zoo built for the Duplo train. She was determined and succeeded despite my best efforts. The jogger jeans were great.
Thank you, Angie. You just made me feel less old.
Kellygirl, (spell check wants to change that to Jelly Girl!), you gave be a big boost of confidence.
Sarah, unfrumped, and Shevia, I love this sweater to the point that my other black, more classic, turtlenecks are not seeing much action this year.
Unfrumped, you are right about the mostly black socks. I would prefer a nude ankle. Maybe denim blue socks or booties or tall boots? I do almost always need socks for warmth when wearing these joggers because they are like heavy sweatpants and best in cold weather. Going out I switched to pewter metallic booties. They look black in photos.

That necklace makes you look so refined and statuesque - but the shoes make it so urban. Love how you pulled it together!

  • Shirley replied 6 years ago

Love the silver long necklace and your silver hair against black and blue.

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

You are 72 years young, Joy.

  • Sal replied 6 years ago

What a fun modern casual look, it suits you very well.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Roxanna and Shirley, this necklace seems magical when added to an outfit. I need to invest in a better quality piece.
    XXOOm Angie.
Sal, it's not often that I achieve fun modern casual. I love the sound of that. Thank you.
