WIW: Cold Spring, Color

There has been some mention of capsules for late winter/cold spring. Here are a few of my pieces from this capsule in action. If you live with 4 seasons, I highly recommend having such a capsule saved for when you need a change from those dark neutrals and colors.
1/2: Mint green with grey and silver
3-5: Blush with small square scarf. In r/l the color is closer to blush
6: lavender, floral, and grey
I also have light blue and light pink in this capsule as well as light neutrals.
The pieces shown are chosen for cold days, not just transitional, although I can put together outfits got warmer weather too.
Do you have things that you like to wear on cold blustery spring days? Suggestions and comments welcomed. How can I improve these outfits?

These look to me to be pretty much the perfect cold spring outfits! You look great, still warm and cozy but the colours freshen it all up, and you look spring-like as well.
Though I don't normally like green much, you look amazing in #1. And I have a soft spot for blush at any time: you wear it so well!

Great outfits, #3 and 4 is my favourite and I like the pearls and neckerchief.

These are all so spring-like. I particularly like the blush outfit with the big sweater - the column of color plus the oversized sweater looks super fashion-y like you're in a magazine. (Or on YLF of course!)

Lovely colors, and YLF. Unfortunately I have not a cold-but-Springy capsule. I wish I had some warm clothes in merry colors but that's one of my numerous wardrobe holes. . On cold Spring days I have to stick to my neutral woolen pullovers and puffers!

    Cold spring?

Just kidding, you look fabulous and I can see how this type of capsule would really be important.  My favorite is number 3.  And I love your pearls.

Joy great outfits like always I like you in that colors, especially in blush, but all pastels are beautiful on you. Gorgeous all and my favorites are #3 and #5.

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

#3 to 5 is my favourite. You are ADORABLE, Ruth. I could eat you up.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you each for your kind comments. I think each of these outfits could be improved on but they did cheer me up on some cold days after being teased with warmer weather.
Angie was the inspiration for the pearls with neckerchief

Very nice outfits. I like #3 best. The turtleneck looks great on you.

We went from several inches of snow on Sunday, to a forecast of 65 this upcoming Friday. I guess I'll be skipping cold spring and going straight to summer.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

JAileen, those are the conditions I am used to with high humidity to make 65 sticky. Does it get considerably cooler at night?
Not sure why that find turned up in my last post??? It won't let me remove it.

  • JAileen replied 7 years ago

Joy, we have extremely dry air due to desert/elevation. 65 is delightful. I just don't remember how to dress for spring/summer.

We normally have 30 degree temperature swings daily. Our climate may be very similar to your new climate. You're probably higher than us, though. We're at 4700 feet.

  • Jaime replied 7 years ago

The silver sneakers really punch things up! The green is such a happy color too!

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

JAileen, I am higher than Denver. We are already having those 30 degree temperature swings. I think a big climate change with this move is that it always cools off at night here, so there is a break in any heat.
Shevia, I love these ECCO sneakers and the mint green is my favorite shade of the color to wear although citron is a close second. Both look great with grey.

Joy, I am new to YLF and I have so enjoyed looking at your outfits. I love your first outfit above, so fresh looking for spring. I may try to copy it somewhat, I have a patterned scarf I may try. We are both petite silver haired sisters and also appear to like many of the same looks so I look forward to future posts from you!

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

KCourtney, what a sweet thing to say. Welcome! I will look forward to your outfits too. I really like mint green with light grey and with navy or denim blue.

  • shedev replied 7 years ago

You look really good in spring colors.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you, Shedev. I didn't get a photo of my cold spring light blue outfit. Maybe tomorrow if it starts out cold enough. I really enjoy some color but did not used to be able to wear these light to mid-range shades.
