Outfit Challenge: ETA added today’s outfit

I have been trying to put together some new outfits but have not often been able to get a picture wearing an outfit. I managed it today (1st photo). The white Madewell jeans, ( Not the best fit but wearable with my monitor right now because the “high rise” is really below my naval.), the cotton striped sweater and striped Sak bag are all second hand buys. If I had worn my pink loafers, the whole outfit would have been consignment. I may need to add a topper for more warmth indoors.
The second outfit pictured, was inspired by Angie’s blog post on casual wear. It is both a bit luxurious and sporty. The pants are never worn Cupcakes and Cashmere black velvet joggers. The last photo of it was lightened to try to show the ribbon stripe down the sides. Top is a black silk shell and topper is an old black cashmere cardigan. Shoes are my old dressy black patent near flats with a fabric bow. This outfit was worn casually for sheltering at home on a cold day.
The orange outfit is another casual at home one featuring a never worn EF sweater, old NYDJ blue denim pull on jeans and my trusty white/pale grey snow boots over striped Smart Wool socks. For dog walking I added an EF orange coat. The scarf is old. I used the floral instead of an orange one that matches the sweater for a touch of spring although there is lots of snow.
Thank you, Brooklyn, for starting this challenge to use never or little worn items. It was a nice distraction and I have been surprised at things I found.
ETA: last 2 photos are today’s outfit. It is an experiment with combining navy and black, although it may be hard to see the difference. Pants are very old EF black pull ons. Sweater is a new cashmere replacement from 360 Cashmere. It is a think ribbed knit that so far has not pilled. Scarf is a Vince Camuto find that combines navy with black and white, mustard, emerald and rust in a floral pattern on navy. Shoes are slip on athletic Ann Klein in navy with black soles. Earrings are sparkly deep blue stone dangles.

Wonderful outfits Joy as always. All items are great. I especially like #1 and #4. Bag and sweater in #1 are fantastic. I love orange sweater, nice color and floral scarf is very good choice.

Thank you, Cee and Mirjana. I enjoyed wearing color after wearing all black.

Oh my word! How did you get your pullover and bag to match so well in #1. A KILLER twinset effect. And white is smashing with your silver hair.

    #5 looks like a gorgeous Joy-Outfit :)

Ditto to the fabulousness of the striped bag and sweater combo, and I love your scarf!

Nice and bright - love #1 and #4-5. Great looks.

Joy, #1 with the matching top and bag is amazing, so glad you are embracing color.
#5 with floral scarf also looks lovely for a beginning of spring

Angie, CarolS, and Celia, the sweater/ bag combo was a lucky accident bought in different years at different shops. Now if I can find similar stripes on socks or shoes, but that is probably asking too much. What I could use would be a second bag that is larger but I have some plain neutrals that could do the job for now. I usually reach for white.
Slim cat, I love that scarf too. It is light enough for an indoor scarf but can also brighten up a coat. It pulls together oranges, olive, tan or white. I wish it also had a bit of blue and makes me think of a similar scarf at The Rack that I did not buy but wish I had in blues, navy and orange.

You look so good in that bright colored striped top. The other outfits look like winners, too.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

I love the lucky matching coincidences!

  • Lucy replied 4 years ago

Wow - gorgeous ! I especially love #1. The colours are so pretty and soothing - looking great with the white jeans .

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

Thank you, Bonnie, Angie and Lucy.

Yay Joy! I knew you would ace this challenge. I love the first outfit. It is a little bit Missoni.

  • cindysmith replied 4 years ago

How on earth did you find a bag that so perfectly matched your top? LOVE LOVE LOVE!

  • rachylou replied 4 years ago

    The bomb! :)

  • Jaime replied 4 years ago

Matching top and bag are amazing!

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

Thank you, Brooklyn, for the inspiration for this challenge.
Cindy Smith and Shevia, I’m happy that you like the combination. Years of doing off-loom weaving has given me a great color memory. I was looking for small bags in spring colors for my glucose meter when I saw it and hoped it would go well with the sweater. If not, I could still wear it with lots of spring/summer outfits.
Thank you, Rachylou. You make me smile.

Great ideas Joy and I think that coral top will be especially casually bright and lovely on you! I love your boots too.

  • nemosmom replied 4 years ago

Love your dual stripes!  That top is a very pretty color for you!

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

Thank you, Torontogirl and Nemosmom. Yes, I liked the bright sweater to wear casually and hoped it could also be a topper that could be worn over a dress, it I don’t think that works.

Today’s challenge outfit added above, an experiment with black and navy featuring an unworn sweater and scarf and very old much worn pants. I wore this all day but out only to walk the dog in the neighborhood. My small meter bag is a pattern mix of black, navy and light tan with a. Little deep red and lighter blue. Off- white cord strap and tassels complete the locally made fabric bag.

  • CarolS replied 4 years ago

Ooh, I love that scarf. Beautifully pulled together look.

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

    Thank you, Cardiff girl.

  • Mirjana replied 4 years ago

Today's outfit is gorgeous, scarf and bag mach so well. It seems warm and comfortable outfit.

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

Thank you, Mirjana. The outfit was warm and comfortable. Those pants and their matching jacket have been a major player in my travel capsule for years. They are great for a long plane flight or a day of walking. I wish I could duplicate them but the current version is a thinner fabric.

Wow, what a gorgeous second hand  finds (love the colors of the cotton striped sweater and striped Sak bag) and  love them with the white jeans! In fact I crave white on all levels now:-).
