NAS: Help needed on vest

I ordered this TTahari Loey vest I two sizes and keep waffling as to which I should keep.
1-3 are an XS, front unzipped, sides zipped, sides unzipped.
4-6 is the S, front unzipped, sides zipped, sides unzipped. I have on grey Kut Diana jeans, also NAS, and a light weight turtleneck, but it is hot and the vest is warm, so these were taken in a hurry with no shoes. Do I need more photos?
What do you think works best? The XS? The S? Or return both. Yay-XS, nay-S.
What do you think of the jeans? Fit ok? They are very comfortable
I welcome your help. I don't know what to do withthe vest.

I love it.  I prefer the smaller size featured in numbers 1 through 3.

I love it too and also prefer the smaller size on you. Huge Kut jeans fan! These look great on you!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 8 years ago

The XS looks plenty big enough; I see no reason to go to the S. Cute vest! I think it will be a great "third piece" for jeans outfits. I bet you could also wear it with a skirt or dress.
Love the jeans on you, too. Comfort and good looks: Keep!

    I vote XS.

  • Janet replied 8 years ago

I think it looks great and have a slight preference for the smaller size. Nice jeans too!

XS unless you're going to wear a thicker layer underneath.  Those jeans are great.  I can't believe there's a pair of KUTs I missed ordering.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

I like the XS in the vest. I also ordered those KUTs but since I don't like wearing straight legs I ended up keeping the Wit&Wisdom pair below; I also found the wash a bit more interesting -- it's borderline acid-wash, but the whole things just comes across as rather trousery. If you like straight leg jeans the KUTs look good!

Another vote for the XS. What a great piece on you, Joy. WOW. Casual Chic. Isn't the quality AMAZING?

    Like the jeans too. Smashing.

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

It looks like the XS is a clear winner. I think it will work with chunky knits and will fit under my puffer coat. Carter and Avemariah, I love my Kut Diana's in black and in white so could not resist the grey. The blue denim was tempting but I have other blues.
Aida, I may order the ones you got to compare. I don't want a close fit and my skinny legs mean most skinnies look like straights on me. My ideal is a cigarette pant fit rather than trousers, if that makes sense.
I saw an older woman shopping today who looked like I don't want to. She had a great slim figure and her stretchy grey pants hugged every curve, but it looked like trying too hard and left nothing to the imagination, especially as she wore a sheer leopard shirt and stilettos...old lady bombshell. If she were younger, she would be a knockout.
Angie, I so hoped that you would give me your opinion. The vest quality is wonderful. Sharan, it will be a fabulous third piece and I think it will also work with my leather pants, skirts and even dresses, especially my black
    sweater dress.

Late, but voting XS too, unless you think you might want to wear it over any thick sweaters? If not, XS looks great!

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Peri, that is a question I've been thinking about. The vest is very warm lined with shearling, so I doubt I'll want to wear it with anything heavier than cashmere or merino wool. If I did, I think it would still work worn open or the side zippers unzipped or both.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Ah I gotcha. The Wit&Wisdom may fit more slimly, that's part of why I chose them over the Kuts. If your calves are very slim (as I know they are) they should fit more like a cigarette pant rather than skinnies. I'm not sure about the sizing (can't tell my size any more these days!) -- I seem to be either a 2 or 4, and took a 4 in these.

Late to this thread, Joy, but I have to say how amazing you look in the Tahari vest! You will feel special every time you reach for it this winter.

Your grey jeans look terrific, too. I'm looking forward to styling my own new grey jeans this year.

It takes real dedication to try on those warm layers in the heat of summer, doesn't it?

  • Suz replied 8 years ago

Wow, that vest is a knockout! Absolutely love it on you. I vote for the xs as well.

And as a Kut Diana lover, I am smiling. They look good.

  • Sal replied 8 years ago

What a cool piece!  And the jeans look great.
Lovely and soft and cosy for going out or staying in.
I also think the smaller one is slightly better too.

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Aida, your sizing information helps. Jeans have so many fits that it is hard to guess without trying on.
Windchime, trying on warm clothes is one of the problems with NAS and I always keep tags on until I actually wear them, often months later. I don't expect to wear the vest until November.
Suz, these Kut Dianas have a heavier fabric than my others. They also seem more stretchy. I'm thrilled that you like the vest.
Thank you, Kiwigal. Yes these are soft, cozy jeans to curl up in.

Once again late, but I love the XS vest and the Kuts. They look casual chic and I can see you wearing them.

  • Jaime replied 8 years ago

Love it on you in XS!

  • Brooklyn replied 8 years ago

Those grey jeans are great on you. I have something similar and bought a second pair recently because I find them so useful. I also vote xs for the vest. I don't think the s is as flattering.

  • CocoLion replied 8 years ago

I'm a spanner as I prefer the S.  But they both look great.  I just like that oversized look and also the S looks a bit longer.  The vest, in either size, looks way better on you than on the model.

And the gray jeans look perfect for your style and coloring.  2x score!

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

I was going to vote for the S. It would be easier to layer under and I like how it looks open, it just has that little bit more coverage which I like in this type of garment.

  • unfrumped replied 8 years ago

I think the XS , too though I get the votes for S. I often waffle on fit for vests also, to go streamlined vs casual, zipped vs. unzipped and for me, hip fit ( zipped). This vest could tend to wear you if too bulky. If in doubt, just run it through more tries with your other items and " the truth" may emerge!
