Ensemble Knit Blazer inspired by April

I was inspired by April's RATE outfit and Angie's blog post to try this outfit.
It features a thrifted pair of Aeropostale jeans that I bought for dirty work in the yard but like the light wash. If I shorten them so the roll isn't as bulky, could they function as boyfriends or should they be garden only?
The last 2 photos are an attempt to show the color of the jeans. Are they too mom-jean? They are light, but not uniformly faded; no rips.
Is the look too young? Is the jacket too short?

Joy, are you serious? This is my idea of killer.... I can't love this enough! Those jeans are a great find in that lovely wash.

  • Mellllls replied 10 years ago

Can you roll them a tad higher?

  • kkards replied 10 years ago

I like the jeans as is,and I think they work really well as BFs. I think you look fab!

Awesome outfit!  I do not see any mom jeans anywhere!

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

I think the jeans will be great, once de-bulked. Nice outfit!

  • gryffin replied 10 years ago

Joy - get them out of the garden and into rotation!!  Love them!!  Your legs look a mile long despite the roll.  Love the blazer, tee, and bootie combo!!  Fab!

  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago

I love this! You look terrific!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

What Anna said. Once you de-bulk the hems of the jeans - you have yourself a killer look.

Thanks for linking from the blog post, you wonderful lady. xo

Those jeans are fabulous on you! Love the fading/wash. I agree that "debulking" the roll by hemming will make them even better.

  • Susie replied 10 years ago

Mom jeans??? Only if she is the most fab Mom ever!

  • April replied 10 years ago

    Love it, Joy!

And I'm literally sitting here grinning like a fool to see yours and Cathy's "inspiration by April" subject lines.  I feel like I've joined the annagybe club!

These jeans look wonderful on you, Joy. Great outfit, and I love your shoes

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Not "mom" jeans. "Mama Mia!" jeans! You look fabulous!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Oh yes!  You're my hero --- you dress in such a fabulously modern but simple way.  These jeans are a great find.

  • Debra replied 10 years ago

    Great jeans, YLF :)

  • carter replied 10 years ago

    You look wonderful!!!!

I'm thrilled that these jeans are getting good reviews. They feel good on and I thought they looked good except for the thick roll. I just don't trust my judgement on these things, especially wash/fading.
Una, kkards, Anna, I'm thrilled that these have your approval.
Mellllls, once they are shortened, I'll be better able to roll them further.
Tanya, Susie and Suz, it's a relief that you don't have mom jean vibes. Suz, now I have Abba on the brain.
Gryffin, they are off garden duty and will probably see lots of action this spring.
Thank you for the kind words, Kellygirl, El Cee, Windchime, Beth Ann, Debra and Carter. Beth Ann, you have me blushing.
Thank you, Angie. I love the new link feature.
    LOL, Susie and April.
    Thank you, TracyLiz.

I think you look adorable yet age appropriate. The jeans are cute, but I agree that shortening them to debunk the hems would be good.

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

Totally age appropriate. You look stylish! I think this is a winner all the way around and should definitely be worn again.

  • sarah replied 10 years ago

Wow, Joy, I think these look fantastic on you. A great look!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

This is so great Joy! Agree with others that once the jeans are debulked, they will be fabulous. Fantastic outfit and you wear it so well.

  • unfrumped replied 10 years ago

The jeans are great! I think the low rise works for that.
Have you tried a longer jacket? I'm liking the apparent movement towards longer jackets since I'm long in torso, and I think they look good with the BF or rolled jean silhouette. It's as if, if the pant hems come up, the jacket hem should move down.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Absolutely fabulous! Looks great and with the debulk will be perfect.

  • Sarah A replied 10 years ago

Late to the show but this look is fantastic! Glad you have moved these from garden duty to fab BF jeans. You look so modern here yet totally appropriate too.

  • MsMary replied 10 years ago

    This is fab!

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

Not mom jeans at all Joy!! Once the hems are shortened it would look brilliant!! Great outfit!

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

These look great and I echo others, I'd love to see less bulk for the rolled hem.  Nice find!

  • Thirkellgirl replied 10 years ago

It's nice to know that other people aren't sure if their jeans are for gardening or trendy, lol.
