BB Dakota assymetrical jacket: thoughts?

My order of the Angie pick B.B. Dakota faux leather assymetrical jacket arrived.
I ordered my larger size of small regular over XS and was glad I did. The sleeves are very narrow, fine for me and adds structure, but I have long skinny arms. Zipped up it just fit on my non curvy bust but I think it would stretch some to accommodate a more average bust. (ETA; Angie has this jacket in her top picks and says it is fab on a full bust and works on an apple figure). I doubt that the tight sleeves leave any room for layering anything but very thin fabric sleeves.
The jacket seems well made, looks like leather but does not have an odor. I got the taupey color because I love that color for a neutral. I am wearing it just over what I had on, sleeveless EF silk shell and Joie silk joggers and would probably never wear it zipped up. I have some compliments in my wardrobe for the color: SE Putty booties, a taupe EF flat shoe with wide ankle strap, and some suede OTK boots and the bag shown.
Your thoughts? K/R? Should I try for a bigger size? Is the color ok on me from what you can see? It brings out the taupe in my hair. Styling suggestions?

It looks and sounds perfect. It will make a nice addition to your taupe complement.

I think it looks good. Try it with the underlayers you’ll be wearing it with, though!

It looks good on you. I really like the color, too. Would you want to wear anything else underneath? Sometimes it’s good to try another size if only to rule it out.

What Jenn said! Make sure the layers you want to wear it with will fit! Gorgeous jacket on you.

You are all so wise.  Yes, I need to try it with more layers.  I found thatI have an EF heavy silk long sleeved tee that is the same color.  if it works under the jacket, it could be a non-conventional twin set.

It looks fantastic, and I like it with the outfit you have on!

Oooo looks super on you. Love the color.

    I especially like it zipped.

Love it on you, and yes, it's perfect with your hair.

Lovely, harmonious colour with your colouring. It also looks great with the clothes you were already wearing--and probably with many others.

By the way, I love the combo of your silk joggers and your Mary Janes. Perfect styling.

Thank you, Aquamarine, Firecracker ,Barbara Diane, Kathy and The Cat.  I am glad the outfit I have on is getting positive comments.  It is one of my go-to outfits for hot weather and today is in the high 80's.  /we were out for lunch and a doctor's appointment for DH.  I may yet need to run to the grocery store.

I love it on you!! Great colour. It seems to fit very well with a single layer under.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Thank you, Jussie. It sounds like this jacket is a keeper. Lightweight jackets are used year-round in my climate. I like that I could wear this one for smart casual, very casual with jeans or dress it up a bit. Now I want a taupe sweater dress.

I love it on you too, Joy. KILLER.

Make sure you've layered the way you want to with it.

  • CocoLion replied 5 years ago

I love it on you.  I could see it pairing well with a midi.

  • Windchime replied 5 years ago

The jacket looks amazing on you, Joy! And more admiration from me for the way you have it styled in these pics. It seems like the type of topper you could reach for all the time, with jeans, skirts, pants, or over dresses. A taupe sweater dress would be a wonderful addition to your wardrobe!

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Angie! A KILLER! That cinched it. I must keep it if it can be layered.
Cocolion, a midi is a great idea. If I can't find a taupe midi sweater dress, I do have my bone knee-length bone tube skirt that could fill in.
Windchime, I agree that this jacket could really turn into a workhorse. I know I can wear it over a column of black, white, denim or chocolate, and hope to find more taupe even if it means scouring consignment stores. I can see it with other light neutrals like over white jeans and blush top.
Thank you for these exciting styling ideas.
