Sal’s Tee Challenge:ETA another tee

Thank you , Sal, for this challenge. I am not sure that these tee outfits bring me joy, but some elements did. First, I am mostly using non-jeans for bottoms. The jean style rarely works out for me any more. An exception is the first outfit. These are jogger jeans with an elastic/drawstring pull-on style. The other pants in this set of 3 outfits are EF pull on crepe pants rolled up a bit.
First outfit.(#1&2) This was chosen for a cool rainy day. I also mostly wore an old thrifted navy linen blazer. Jogger jeans, Chunky white New Balance sneakers (not shown but old). top is a navy with white stripes EF linen tee/sweater hybrId. I started out wearing pearls with this outfit but lost an earring and removed them (not shown). The joggers stay in place and are not fussy. I enjoy wearing the tee/sweater and the sneakers were comfortable for dog walking. i felt that the blazer and pearls dressed the outfit up a bit. This made me happy.
Outfit 2: hotter day so an old Carole Little woven silk tee with sunflowers on black background, Black silk EF lantern pants and EF black espadrilles, Ted Baker sunglasses, gold metallic cross-body bag. This outfit worked well and the pants were kind of stretchy at the waist with a side button closure. It was easy access to the stomach for injections. The espadrilles are very comfortable for walking and the silk was just the right weight for the warm day, even with a cotton tank under the top. I love the sunflower print and added amber colored glass dangle earrings and green bead and gold bangle bracelets. These sunglasses fit the best of any I have.
Outfit 3: thrifted nylon tee that has a water color type design in greys, black and mustard. Tiffany sunglasses. EF crepe pull on pants in graphite grey, rolled to show EF pewter metallic espadrilles. My bag is a grey Bagilinni. Very happy with all pieces...cool and comfortable. Worn to take our ballots to the early balloting box outside the library and dog walking. I love the espadrilles. I plan to add more tee outfitS during the next week.
I welcome your comments and suggestions.
Photos 5/6: another woven tee, Ann Taylor Loft, EF wide jeans and mules. Bag was a gift from Japan. Necklace a gift. I am not happy with the polyester fabric and ditsy floral pattern of this tee, but it is a cool day so it is not too hot to wear. I like the curved hem and colors. The horizontal stripe in front helps the bust to look larger, a very good thing.

Nice outfits, I like that the tees have fun prints. Great espadrilles too, especially the last ones. Cool and comfortable is good!

  • Sal replied 3 years ago

Joy - you look great. I love 3 and 4 in particular. The top in four is especially nice on you.

Espadrilles look and feel like summer don’t they, I don’t have a pair but always like them too.

Oh love outfit 2! Dark florals with a bag that matches!
I want to do a Suntiger and “carry it off” xx

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Robin, Sal and Jenni for your lovely and helpful comments.
Robin, I am very picky about what is on a tee.
Sal, I thought that tee would go well with my hair and much of my summer wardrobe. It was bought originally for my hot autumn capsule for when I want to wear autumn colors but it is still hot. In Kansas this could last until November but here in Colorado it turns cooler much earlier, no hot fall. The topper I would use in the fall is a graphite grey jacket or a mustard light jacket.
Jenni, I love that tee in #2 too. Once it had a matching skirt but it got too tight. It was also a maxi length on me. It was given to a niece but I am glad that I kept the tee.. It may be at least 20 years old.

Polished casual outfits - love your printed tops ( esp the last one )!

  • Mirjana replied 3 years ago

Great outfits, Joy as usual. I especially love #3, beautiful floral top on you. The next is #4 with lovely shoes. You look stunning in all outfits.

  • Star replied 3 years ago

Fabulous polished casual outfits.  Love them.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you for looking and commenting, slim cat, Mirjana, and Star. This challenge is helping me see how to wear tee shirts. My parents considered them underwear, so I have come to them late in life.

Can we talk about the doggie socks/slippers? Super cute
great tee outfits. #1/2 is my fav, its got that cool girl looks with the faded joggers playing really well against the dressier tee and blazer and boho feeling bag.

You rock Joy! I think these are my favourite outfits of yours ever. And you already set the bar high. It’s a trifecta.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

I added today’s tee above. Thank you, Kkards and Brooklyn. Your posts made me smile. Kkards, the doggie socks have little grippers on the bottom, so can serve as slippers. They were bought on after Christmas sale at The Rack in a pack with some striped socks. They say “Feliz Naughty Dog”
Brooklyn, you make me feel that a short sleeved tee looks ok on me. I am thrilled that you like these outfits!

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

Your floral tee is very pretty on you! It helps that the tee has that special trim on the sleeves and across the front - more angular/geometric if it can be called like that ( I'm not into pure floral prints but more into more complex or mixed ones ).
White mules go so well with outfit and the bag has nice dark floral print.
    I'd say you've won that challenge :) .

NAILED IT YOUR WAY! Well done. You are a very stylish glucose meter wearer. IMPRESSED!

You also win best socks of the year!

#4 is my KILLER fave because the pattern of the top is magical with your hair. WOW :)

  • Mirjana replied 3 years ago

I like the tee in #5 also, very nice.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, slim cat, Angie and Mirjana for your kind comments.
Slim cat I love how you analyze the details.
Angie, I know the pants I have on today need to be shortened. I need to make an appointment with the alterations person at The Rack if they are open. I have some other things too. Best Socks Winner made me laugh. I needed that. The vet today says Maggie has a heart murmur and needs to see a doggie cardiologist! I will try to attach a photo I took of Maggie wearing o e of those co es so she won’t lick her paw. She is not happy.
    Mirjana, you are so kind.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Oh, Joy. I'm sorry about sweet Maggie. Sending healing thoughts and love. xo

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

Oooh, these are great; my favourite is the stripe (of course!).

  • nemosmom replied 3 years ago

All of these are so great that I can't pick a favorite! I do quite like those socks...

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

Great outfits! #4 is my favorite. Poor Maggie though. No one likes to be boxed in.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Poor Maggie. Thank you for the healing thoughts for her, Angie.
Thank you, nemosmom, torontogirl and Shevia.
Maggie keeps taking the collar off. It is hard to get a good fit with all her fur. I”m glad these tee outfits are a success. The weather is just right for a bit of sleeve and sometimes socks.

  • Mainelady replied 3 years ago

Best wishes for Maggie....I hope she feels better and leaves the collar on! We had good luck with one of the inflatable collars. It was very soft and formed almost a donut shaped ring. You might try one of those, if Maggie really dislikes her current one.
Your outfits are all fab! Of course I expected nothing less.  The jogger jeans and the silk sunflower tee are my favorites. I tried to purchase a similar sunflower tee, but my size was out of stock.

  • replied 3 years ago

Loove the sunflower and watercolor tops! Your doggie socks made me smile :)
Poor Maggie! If it makes you feel better one of my kitties had a heart murmur and lived over 10 years. He's late now but due to cancer not heart related.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Mainelady and sunflower thank you for you comforting messages. . I have heard of inflatable collars and will first try a see-through collar DS has, then try the inflatable. Do you think a medium sized dog would be able to drink water and eat from bowls with it on? Would elevated bowls work better?.
DH and I are feeling down today because DS was going to bring the little grandchildren over and then found out that neighborhood playmates and their families had tested positive for the Corona virus and have symptoms so are not coming.. More quarantining and concern.

  • Zaeobi replied 3 years ago

I love all of these looks but the cream watercolour top is my favourite - works well with your overall colouring!

Funnily enough, I know exactly what you mean about T-shirts being considered as underwear - my parents would always make me wear a scarf or topper over a t-shirt because they felt it 'improper' for me to be that 'uncovered' in public. It probably explains why I don't usually wear them by themselves, even now. One of the many ways in which our parents continue to have a voice inside our heads haha :)

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Zaeobi, that is so true. Ànother thing I grew up with was uniforms. Everyone had them. A reason that I cannot wear baseball caps or anything Western. My dad always were a white shirt and tie, suit and polished shoes even to dig in the garden or mow the lawn. He refused to wear jeans or anything knit like a tee.
