30X30: Adding White Trousers ETA: white jeans equestrian style

I just had to pull out some white trousers after reading Angie's blog post.
However, I may replace these trousers with some white jeans in my 30X30 because I kept having to readjust them. The waist is not fitting well. I am wearing them with the Laundry white turtleneck and the vest already in my 30X30, SE petty booties in snake, pearl earrings and a silk white polka dotted scarf. The pant legs are too wide for my riding boots, but would that have been a better look? The trousers are AT but I do not have a find and will not make one as they are on their way out of the wardrobe. Instead, I am including a find for the white jeans I will replace them with in the capsule. I welcome your thoughts.

YAY Joy.  I am going to add white jeans to my 30 x 30 too!!!!!!!!!!

  • Toban replied 6 years ago

Lovely addition! But they look like they are too big all over. Definitely worth replacing with better fitting ones in your capsule. They would be very versatile in your wardrobe.

joy- i love this look...that vest is fab and plays soooo well with white pants!

  • The Cat replied 6 years ago

Your column of winter white matches your beautiful hair perfectly. Very chic snake boots!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Sterling, yay. I can't wait to see your white jeans in action.
Toban, you are right. These trousers are too big. I bought them when slouchy trousers were the trend.
Kkards, having the vest in my capsule was one reason to try white pants. It has not been paired with white bottoms before, so I am thrilled that you like the result.
The Cat, shades of white are becoming my go-to neutral all year round. The shoes are very comfortable with knee high stockings or bare feet, but need to stretch before I can wear them with most socks.

Joy, I think this is one of my favourite outfits of yours... and I have many favourites.  I just love the subtle variations in texture and pattern.  Gorgeous.  And yes, white jeans will look great as well.
    Gosh I love that vest.

  • SarahD8 replied 6 years ago

Love seeing that great vest worked into another outfit. The pattern mixing with the polka dot scarf is just fab!

The outfit looks great and I would like to see it with jeans. I prefer it with the snake boots for the monochrome effect. All these great white jeans posts have started me shopping! I haven’t owned a pair since college.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you, Elizabeth, SarahD8 and karen13, you have certainly raised my happiness factor with this outfit and encouraged me to try again with white jeans.

Day 13: (missing a couple of casual days that need to be added). Today I am trying Angie's equestrian ensemble with tall black boots and black belt. I have the same olive anorak. The plaid shirt is warmer than expected with heat tech tee but the plaid may be removed from the 30/30 later if space is needed. This is a trial of the ensemble.
Your comments and suggestions are welcomed. Is this too stumpifying on me? Too much contrast? Do I need a new or different satchel? The pearls make me happy.

  • Cardiff girl replied 6 years ago

Tally ho!loved your initial ensemble and I really like the plaid with the pearls, the colour of the plaid shirt and the bag but like you I wonder if the contrast between the boots and the jeans is shortening the look of your legs?Or am I just not used to seeing white jeans in a winter setting, the first outfit proportions just worked so well.

  • Bonnie replied 6 years ago

I really like this outfit and I'm enjoying following your 30x30 posts.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you, Cardiff girl and bonnie. The angle I have to use to take the selfie can be leg shortening, so it is hard to judge. I think that I need a better burgundy bag but hesitate because I do not have any burgundy footwear that is special enough to spend on a great bag. Everything I have in this color is for cold weather, so seasonal.

  • The Cat replied 6 years ago

Your Day 13 outfit looks great too. The shirt, the bag and the jeans make a fun and cheerful combo. I don't think the contrast between the jeans and the boots looks stumpifying on you. To my eye, it helps that the boots are simple and slim, and that the black colour is repeated in the belt and the pom-pom on the bag. I also love the addition of the pearls, and how they, as well as your hair, bookend the white jeans.

However, if you yourself feel that this look is a bit stumpifying on you, I suggest you wear the jeans outside your boots and perhaps replace your tall boots with booties.

  • Windchime replied 6 years ago

I see no stumpifying here. Rather, I see two fab, flattering outfits inspired by Friday's ensemble. Both the vest and your plaid shirt look terrific with white bottoms, and each outfit has its own distinct vibe.

Love the pompon on your bag; very fun!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you so much, Windchime. These outfits are a bit out of my comfort zone and you give me confidence. I am thinking of repeating the outfit another day with burgundy booties and belt, as Angie suggests.

  • Jaime replied 6 years ago

White is fantastic on you and I really love your equestrian outfit.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you, Shevia. I am thrilling that you think these outfits work for me.

  • Mainelady replied 6 years ago

You can wear equestrian! I think the style looks great on you! I like the contrast between the white and darker colors. I look forward to seeing your outfit with the burgundy accents. I predict it will be fab!

  • replied 6 years ago

Columns of white or off-white are definitely YOUR signature.  You rock it like no other.

Day 13 was amazing!!!!!  It really is fabulous because you literally can wear it all with panache.  I really like the look of white jeans tucked into dark riding boots.  I wonder if the shirt doesn't overwhelm you just a tiny bit though. If you look at your proportions, you might see 1/2-1/2.  May not matter.

  • kkards replied 6 years ago

and an other fab look! i love the high contrast between the black boots and white jeans.

  • Katerina replied 6 years ago

Two amazing outfits, Joy! Love them both.

Agree with others, you wear white jeans very well, fabulous! I like the combination with the black riding boots a lot.

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

    You're nailing again, you cutie-pattootie.

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 6 years ago

Joy, I don't think you could put a foot wrong if you tried!   You look absolutely perfect :)

  • Lynn replied 6 years ago

Joy- I don't think I had time to comment on your other threads this week but I have enjoyed reading them and really admire your outfits. I like how you used the statement booties with the white jeans to add interest.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thanks to each of you who read , looked and took time to comment. You have lifted my spirits and given me great input and confidence. For many things I wear I think, " You are over 70 years old. You have no business wearing things like white jeans with riding boots, skinny jeans, or sporting a pompom." Tomorrow (or tonight if I'm up) I will start a new thread for the third week of the 30X30 challenge. Thank you so much!!

  • Katerina replied 6 years ago

Joy, thank YOU. It is a pleasure to follow your threads and to look at your fabulous outfits. Your sense of style is impressive and your ideas and outfits are inspiration. You should never think you have no business of wearing something - with all due respect - it is nonsense.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Katerina, you made my day. I am still swooning over your latest post with the hunting bag.

  • The Cat replied 6 years ago

What Katerina said. Joy, I am sure you are an inspiring role model to many people in all ages. It's wonderful to see people in their 70s (or beyond) who look fab and continue to have fun with fashion.
