Wrapped Denim Jacket: Whiteout

I have a poncho in shades of cream and white and white denim so decided to try a white version of Angie's wrapped denim ensemble. Does this work? Suggestions for improvement?
After taking the photos I did add white pearl earrings and necklace. The necklace just perks out from under the jacket collar a little bit.

It totally works. I love the texture on that poncho, and think it adds a lot to the formula. Well done!

Stunning, Joy! Love how the whites and different textures work together and with your hair.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Murph and Bonnie, I would love to meet for lunch! Jenn and harmonica, the texture of the poncho is very soft. I felt someone sitting behind me this morning touch it and completely understood.

I really love this idea. Well done. It's interesting to see how the same formula can range from minimalist to boho in everyone's different implementations.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Karen, that is lovely, thank you.
    Jenni, consider yourself beamed :)

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you, Lisa, Madeline and Greyscale. Is is so interesting to see different interpretations of the same basic ensemble. I have seen ideas on others that I want to try.

Ah let's all have a virtual lunch. I'm game if you are. Joy you and your wadrobe are a wonder. I have loved also everthing you wear. You and a few others must have magical wadrobes and while nowhere near my style aesthetic. I love what you all wear.

I hope you never stop contributing to ylf because for lack of a better word you bring joy to the forum.

Now this fit is just elegant to me. There is such a sophisticated elegance to this. The texture the white or light fit. Your beautiful hair l it just works. Without saying i tried really hard to put this fit togther.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Ledonna, you might like to know that nearly every outfit I wear has at least one, usually more, pieces that have been thrifted. For this outfit it was the silk shell under the denim jacket and the denim jacket ( American Eagle brand). The poncho was a given to me by my niece who also is a regular thrifter, so it may have been from the Good Will. Yes, we need a lunch meet up. You are a gorgeous woman with a fabulous heart. I'm thrilled that you approve of this outfit and find it has some elegance, which is my dream goal.

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Awe that is great to know Joy. That poncho is life giving. To me your dream is realized.

  • Jaime replied 7 years ago

Wow! You are on a super roll.

  • Elizabeth P replied 7 years ago

Joy, this is lovely! What a clever interpretation.

  • minimalist replied 7 years ago

Joy, this is delightful! Love the light rendition.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you, Ledonna, Shevia, Elizabeth and minimalist for your kind comments. It is fun to see what inspiration will inspire. Today I wrapped a plaid blazer. There is a tweed jacket calling to be part of a wrapped outfit too.

  • Lisa replied 7 years ago

Sorry I am out of ideas, because there is nothing to improve here, this outfit is a lovely white out look.  Great texture with that poncho.

  • Isabel replied 7 years ago

LOVE,LOVE, LOVE !  you really do white out well btw.

  • Eliza replied 7 years ago

Great look! You wear those colors and textures beautifully. Love it from head to toe.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you! I plan to repeat this outfit as it is the right weight for a cool spring day.

  • Bijou replied 7 years ago

So beautiful - you look stunning in white and I hope you have Angie's super power of staying clean. I also love white, but with a dog and child (and some clumsiness  on my part) - I often do not stay pristine for an entire day. I always hope that paw prints on white jeans is charming, because it is a look that I often wear.

  • KCourtney replied 7 years ago

I just left a comment on your wrapped blazer post but my-oh-my I LOVE this even more. You look stunning. I have always been a fan of mono color schemes and this is just perfect!! I admire all your "looks" Joy and we share a love of thrifting. Who knew it was so much fun! I also wish we could thrift and lunch together! BTW....what brand are your booties?

  • Runcarla replied 7 years ago

This is absolutely wonderful, Joy. Your elegant self, with a certain laid-back Colorado vibe!

  • Andrea H replied 7 years ago

I love this (non)color scheme so much! That is a lovely poncho.

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

    KILLER

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Bijou, I don't know about the super power of staying clean, but I can usually manage it. We have a black and white dog that is mostly white and that I will not allow to jump on me. I change before cooking or other messy work and wear an apron.
KCourtney, you are a sweetheart. I would love a thrifting and lunch partner! The booties are Sam Edleman Petty in bone suede. I got these online from Nordsrtom last year. They are my usual size and very comfortable.
Runcarla, your words hit exactly what I want to portray....elegance with a laid back Colorado vibe! Thank you.
Andrea, thank you. Sometimes non-colors seem right and can get just as much attention.
Angie, a Killer! I am thrilled and inspired to work harder.
