WIW: Una's Shirt

Una sent me a JCrew citron checked shirt posted on the Style Exchange some time ago. It's finally warm enough to wear it. The fit and fabric feel great and I can't get enough of this color this spring.
I'd welcome your ideas for ways to style this shirt.
Shirt: J Crew
Tank: linen EF
Jeans: Aeropostale ( thrifted)
Belt: Rack
Loafers: Franco Sarto
I need new sunglasses.

I can't get enough of that color either.... To me you can do no wrong with that shirt, but the semi-tucked versions look more modern.

So crisp and fresh. I prefer the tucked version. You look fab and of course Una rocks, but we knew both things already.

All this citron lately is making me think it's YLF's new non-neutral neutral :-D

I have the citron shirt...So glad to see how you are styling it..Perfect look with the jeans...I agree it is a total neutral...

    Great looks with the shirt!

    Thank you for commenting.
Adelfa, I agree that the semi tuck looks best. It's such a great color on a grey cloudy day.
Ornella, thank you for taking time out from your packing and cleaning to comment. I love the idea of citron being a non-neutral neutral and will try to treat it as such when styling.
Crutcher, have you posted outfits with this shirt? How fun that you have the same one. Now I want to find a belt in this color.

I have citron pants (yikes, I know). I wear mine with

    navy.

And another Style Exchange success story:-)
The shirt looks gorgeous on you, Joy. I love it. And I also love the way you've styled it here. Citron and this shade of blue were made for each other.
(I used to wear a citron scarf with a saturated mid-blue shirt, and that was a great colour combo too).

This will work with so many colours: whites, creams, greys, tomato red (definitely have a look at Angie's outfits too), greens...

Joy, I love that shirt on you, and the semi-tucked version with the rolled jeans is just perfect. Fantastic look!

I like the buttoned and semi-tucked outfit best and I love the citron with the faded jeans and white. Great exchange Joy and Una!

  • Janet replied 9 years ago

What a perfect shirt on you! Yay for Una! I like it with the faded denim but could also see you rocking it with mid or light grey, and of course with white jeans or pants. I like the navy suggestion as well.

I didn't seem to have Internet connection earlier.
Ceit, thank you. We must have cross posted.
Quiet girl, I have citron jeans but they look really matchy with this shirt. Maybe that is ok? I would glow in the dark.
Inge, thank you for the styling ideas. Great idea to look at Angie's outfits!
Viva, thank you for the confidence building comment.
Shevia and Janet, Una is a sweetheart, isn't she. Thank you for the styling ideas.

Perfect in #1. How about with white jeans, Joy?

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Thank you, Angie. I'll try the Catherine bf's next

Citron loves you, by way of Una, and your new shirt would also look great with grey denim, too.  I know why you mean about sunglasses.  My latest ones are Kate Spade with magnification so I can read with them.
