WIW: trying Angie's ensembles: Burgundy skinnies W/boots, whiteout, and hoodie/blazer

We've been traveling some and it's been harder to get photos. Here are a few recents:
1. Whiteout with sized up BR cream skinnies, Gap cable knit, Born metallic sneakers for gym, white watch and cream cashmere scarf. I'm wearing this today and will change into SE Python Petty booties later.
2-4: pink AT cashmere hoody alone, under knit blazer, and with added scarf. It was a bitterly cold day. I'm wearing my chocolate brown leather trousers, chocolate brown EF silk layering tee, and Munro booties.
5-9: my take on Angie's burgundy jeans with tall boots http://youlookfab.com/2013/12/.....ith-boots/
The pink coat in 7-8 is a JCrew consignment find while in Boulder. boots are old brown suede Joan&David.
I'd love to know what you think works best here and your suggestions for improvements. I have used a different jacket this time with the hoodie but it still seems off.

Joy, these are gorgeous! Wow, are you a vision in the whiteout!! Just spectacular on you.

I also love, love, love 2/3!! Super!!

The coat is also super fun on you.

And look -- boots that fit your calves?!?! They may be oldies but I think they are still goodies, no?

Joy, all of these are great looks! I especially love the white out, wow! And you find the most wonderful pieces at consigned . That coat is so pretty on you.

Suz, yes these boots are goodies. These boots are a size down from my usual size but still a comfortable fit with tights. I suspect that is what I need to look for in tall boots...something that runs a little big in the foot and narrow in the calf.
Susie, it's a good thing that I don't get to Boulder very often. I always find some great consignment there. DDIL found a beautiful sort of Chanel-seque cardigan from JCrew there as well as great-fitting jeans that bookend her hair.

That whiteout look is AMAZING on you! And I also love the hoodie layering. Gorgeous cozy winter looks!

Wow! I see no need for changes, so no suggestions from me. Everything works beautifully. I adore the whiteout look and your pink coat is lovely.

Love you in the white, and I think the boots look good. I like the hoodie and blazer look too.

You look wonderful in all the photos, Joy, but the pink coat with the burgundy skinnies is just super fabulous. I love this colour combo!!

These are all fab Joy - you look fantastic :)
    #1 is perfect.

  • carambola replied 10 years ago

Wow, you look stunning in all cream! I like the gold sneakers and can also imagine how amazing it looks with the Pettys. I also love #3 and 7-8.

What a find in that jacket, the soft pink is so nice with your hair. Gorgeous boots - love the comfort of a wedge (if that is what I'm seeing). And #1 - wow!!

Soooo, I was just rolling along, enjoying the lovely pictures of your never-fail fabulous outfits, when *BAM* pink coat. Wow! That is absolutely fantastic! I love it.  What a great find.  It looks amazing on you!

Lovely outfits, all, but I adore the pink coat. YLF!

  • merwoman replied 10 years ago

Wow! Love your winter white out - addition of white scarf is particularly genius, and such fab footwear! Love the pink coat as well - what a score to get it on consignment.  Am thinking you could also change the buttons on it if you want to go for a less contrasty effect.

Joy I fainted at #1, bumped my head and can't focus on the other outfits just yet lol.  Wow.  #1 is beautiful on you.  Fab proprortions, those shoes *sigh*.

Oh, my! Your comments have brightened my day! I got so many compliments on Winter Whiteout today. Thank you, Angie, for the inspiration to wear white I all seasons.
I added the pink wool coat when I went out to keep the pallet light. I am really loving that coat. It feels fitted but I'm still able to comfortably layer a chunky sweater under it. I'm glad that it is getting YLF approval. Merwoman, I'd not thought of changing out the buttons.
Pil, you are seeing wedge heels on those boots. I love their comfort and stability too.
Inge, the pink coat with burgundy jeans was totally inspired by Angie's post. The coat was the closest I had to the one in the ensemble. I'm thrilled that you feel it works.
Thank you, Angie. That white outfit wouldn't be in my closet without your picks and inspiration.
K.Period and Deborah, your fun comments brought chuckles and blushes to get such praise from those who's style I so admire.
Thank you so much to all who took time to look and comment.
