WIW: Shannon inspired and other recents

The light has not been good lately for photos. Here are a few of recent outfits.
1/2: what I'm wearing today inspired by one of Shannon's burgundy pant outfits with grey EF sweater. Mine is made up of H&M burgundy jeans and a 360 cashmere sweater from last year's NAS. The second photo is to show its assymetry. I'm wearing this today with Bare Trap booties.
3: inspired by Angie's wide trouser posts, these are an old pair of Target grey trousers, Nic&Zoe long cardi over a BR denim shirt, Born shooties, Target bag.
4/5: the photos don't show the dark colors well. Classiques Entiere fine tweedish pencil skirt in black and chocolate, Calson leather jacket from my first NAS, chocolate EF silk long sleeved tee, Me Too flats, Elliot Lucca clutch
6: New find is the cream moto jacket from Wilson's Leather outlet, consignment DVF silk skirt. Worn to church yesterday. The skirt is pull on and a bit big in the waist (rare for me!) I can wear it lower on the hip to make it longer or pull it up shorter and would like your thoughts about length on me. vThis jacket was only $29 on sale and I think I'll get lots of wear out of it. Shannon, I went in to buy leather protector and did get that too. I hope Wilson's may turn out to be my version of your Danier. Has anyone had experience with their quality?
6: bonus pet photo. Mags has bed head hair.
I welcome your opinions and suggestions.
ETA: photos 8/9 are facing the window as Amy suggested. You see the co.or better, especially in #9.

you look stunning #5 closely closely followed by #6.  love that cream moto.

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

I am also struggling with lighting for WIWs lately.  I really like #1, those pants are a great fall color!

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

#6 is my favorite, but you look great in all of these.

Try looking out the window when taking the pictures, so the window light is directly on you, not on one side :)

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

That's a good idea, Amy. I'll try it.

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

Good lighting is so hard to work out, isn't it?
I wish I could see your outfits better, because they all look fab! I really like your burgundy jeans.
The cream jacket looks terrific on you. I like the skirt, but it does look a little big. The below knee length seems good, but can you have it taken in? It would be worth it for a good quality silk skirt like that.

So pretty in all! I especially like the burgundy denim!

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

4/5 are absolute stunners!  And I wish I could see more of your clutches!!  You seem to have a lovely collection!  I love the slouchy fit of the burgundy jeans!  And the cream moto jacket is a brilliant find!  I cannot make out fit issues with the skirt in the last pic.  The length seems fine to me too, a bit lower might make the skirt a bit too long, I think.  And your pet is adorable!!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Neel, I happen to have a photo of the clutches that I use on a daily basis. It doesn't include my dressy ones or a cobalt blue one I got for practically nothing with coupon and clearance.
ETA: more clutches, including the new blue one, a really ancient taupe, and shiny gold I use sometimes for day as it is pretty large.

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

Oh dear!!  I have serious clutch envy now!!  My absolute favorites are the color blocked orange/pink/brown one and the snakeskin one!!  I hope to be able to use clutches more often when my kids are older.  Love them!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

You look fantastic!  I think I got rid of a pair of burgundy skinnies and now I want them back!  Puppy's bedhead is adorable.

  • Astrid replied 10 years ago

All are great, but my favourite is #4/5!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

What a minute. You got that cream leather jacket for $29??????

Joy, that is a stunning piece on you!! Absolutely sensational!

What is the weight/ drape like? Is it good for indoor wear? I love how it looks in this outfit.

Love your Shannon copy outfit as well. And you look incredibly elegant in 4/5. Gorgeous.

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

Ok ....... I just saw the other clutch pics and my number one fav has been replaced by the cobalt clutch!!  Luscious color and lovely design!  You have some serious clutch love Joy :)

  • Emily replied 10 years ago

Joy, I love your burgundy skinnies outfit and am totally jealous of your $29 leather jacket.  You look great!  Mags is adorable, too.  <3 Furry dog face bedhead.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Suz, this jacket was just waiting for me on a sale rack. It is very soft, light and drapes well. I plan to wear it indoors this winter. I was recently wondering if there was such a thing as a leather white jean jacket. This is a good substitute.
Neel, the blue one was on clearance at DSW recently. It was a color that was missing in my bag collection. Most of my bags are from sales. The most expensive but most used is the snake Elliot Lucca.
Suz, Neel, bj1111 and Astrid, thank you for your love of 4/5. That skirt was a pure impulse buy some time ago, but I like that it makes it look like there are some curves to my body.
Una, Parkmommychic, Parsley and Lisa, who knew that burgundy jeans could be such fun? They have been busy in my fall capsule and were going to be put away for winter. Now they may stay to play awhile longer.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Thank you, Emily, Mags was not happy getting her photo taken like this. Her biggest concern right now is keeping the yard free from squirrels.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Oh my gosh Joy - LOVE the burgundy jeans outfit! You are inspiring ME! And the white leather jacket is the find of the year for you. Fantastic fit and style - I can see this getting worn a lot. Good for you for getting the protector too. It really does help keep the leather in great shape.

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

    All super- FAB!
Your doggy is so cute though- oh to look so adorable wearing only slept-in fur :)

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

YLF Joy. Mags is so cute :)

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

You are breath taking in #5. Wow. So elegant and chic, Joy.

And Mags is stylish no matter what. Her Mama is a true role model. xo

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Thank you so much, Shannon. You may be seeing more versions of your burgundy jeans outfits on my WIW, including one with the white leather jacket, I think.
Lyn, Caro, and Angie, Maggie and I both thank you. The fuzzy one is busy rearranging her dog bed at the moment. She wants to be under it and turns it upside down to make a cave.
Angie, you are so encouraging. xo

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

You look terrific Joy! And it was delightful having Mags suddenly pop up on my screen. Great find with the leather jacket!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

I've had to resort to flash recently, and of course, the colors are distorted.  Love the burgundy skinnies!  I've been looking for a pair, without luck, so, for now, I'll enjoy them on you.

I've been wondering about Wilson's leather, too.  I do have a store nearby.  I'll check 'em out!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Shevia, Mags sends you puppy kisses. Thank you for the kind comment.
BethAnn, maybe it's time for me to figure out self timing and using a flash for photos, or I need to time them better for the right daylight. You would look wonderful in burgundy jeans.

  • san replied 10 years ago

You are one classy lady, and so is Mags!!  I've watched your style transformation for several years and you are a true inspiration to me.  You just keep looking better and better.

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Joy you certainly know how to rock a leather jacket. Both leather jacket outfits rate as favourites for me. Classy with edge. Love.

  • Lantana replied 10 years ago

These are all up to your usual stylish standard Joy. I particularly admire the denim shirt, it's a great colour contrast with your hair and the pale cardi. My absolute favourite is the navy and cream outfit in #6. What a buy that moto is.
