WIW: Mostly Blush and Navy ETA outfits and finds

This past weekend I pulled my blush and navy pieces to see if there were enough for a capsule. Here are a few of the results. Some of these have already been posted on Sterling's challenge thread.
1-3: new Rebecca Taylor print silk blouse and dark denim colored pencil skirt. How do you like the blouse best...tucked, loose, or semi-tucked?
4-5: later in the day I switched the skirt out for jeans.
6-8: an old Lucky print cotton peasant top. I am wondering if I should keep this top. The wide neck is not the best style for me and cold, but the long sleeves make it too hot for summer wear.
9-10: Blush jeans bought 2 sizes too big for a boyfriend fit. Are they still ok? The button down stripe shirt hasn't had much wear lately but I like that it has darts and gives me some shape and the button detail on the cuffs. But is it dated? K or T?
11-12: EF jacket and pants with blush tee, scarf from Japan. Are the pants too wide to roll?
13: same pants with old Karen Kane knit top. Too dated? Suggestions?

What a great capsule of navy and blush items! You could pack that up in a suitcase and go.

You know what else works with blush? Leopard print! Leopard print shoes with those blush BF jeans would look cute...

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

What's great idea, Shiny. I will have to try some leopard! Thank you.

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 8 years ago

Agreeing with Shiny. Also white or ecru is nice. A dark navy against just the pale blush is a bit stark but when you have that nice in between print, you're all set.

You must know that I am already loving your blush/navy capsule. I am so happy that you put it all in one place for us to refer to. Your color capsules are always very inspiring. I really adore those blush Kut jeans. They look great to my eye, but I am one that prefers looser, less body hugging cuts… so I am a bit biased. My boho side is loving the print on the Lucky blouse, but I understand that long sleeves do not work well for summer. Is it worth making into a sleeveless top? (Probably too much trouble.) You have some beautiful accessories. The blush clutch is particularly fab. I love Shiny's idea of working a little leopard into this capsule.

I like your print tops a lot. This is a beautiful capsule.

Beautiful colours Joy they look amazing with your hair :)

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

UmmLila, that is a valuable observation about the high contrast of blush and navy and using a print in between.
ElCee, what a good idea to see if the Lucky blouse can be made sleeveless! I will see if that is a possibility.
Bonnie and Caro, thank you for your comments. Caro, maybe you need a little blush too ;)

You look wonderful in these colors. You always look fab in sleeveless, and I actually like the Lucky blouse a lot, so making it sleeveless makes sense to me.

Gorgeous colors. The new blouse sets a higher bar- it looks great, and I would pass on the peasant top. Love the blush peacoat, too.

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Shevia and Unfrumped, thank you for your comments and suggestions.

Gorgeous!  Something about 4 is especially appealing.  I love blush but can't wear it alone - maybe with a darker topper it could work!

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Thank you, Una. You could wear blush with black. When we went to Japan, I saw that combination everywhere and it looked quite sophisticated.

  • Caro in Oz replied 8 years ago

Joy, funny you should say that - I look & look but the ones I see are either too "dirty" or too pastel. I do keep looking though.

  • Sally replied 8 years ago

Love the colors. That outfit in #4 is really nice. I think it's the cuffed pants. ..really nice

I am really enjoying your navy/blush capsule.  The color combination is stunning and especially stunning on you.

The blouse is beautiful.  I love it.  It looks fabulous tucked as well as untucked.  I like the easiness of the untucked version in number 2, but could you have worn it that way to church?

I vote donate the top in 6-8.  You say one single good thing that was encouraging about it.  Even if you remove the sleeves, the neck would still to be wide.  Why bother?

Since we are all trying to wear unworn items, wearing your button down is a good choice.  I do think it looks a bit dated. HOW can a button down look dated?  Is it the print?  The cut?  ALL of mine are fitted.  It never occurred to me to assess whether they are dated or not.  (I am going to soothe myself by telling myself it is the print).

Special shout out to the navy cardigan in number 10, the slip on shoes, and the clutch.  The cardigan Find looks NOTHING like what you are wearing.

Joy, this is such a beautiful capsule.  I love the way those colours interact. You have such a lovely, versatile wardrobe.

  • Jjsloane replied 8 years ago

I think it all works nicely together and I love the color combination. The print is key here for me as well. I admit I often indulge my boho side with a lovely patterned Lucky blouse to help tie together high contrast colors (blue and white...). With your toppers it works for you.

I'm delighted by your navy and blush capsule, it would make a good travelling capsule, too:-)

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Thank you all so much. I think I'll see if DDIL would like the Lucky top. It is her style but might not be her size.
I will just make a few quick comments now as I'm running late and come back later.
Sterling, thank you so much fo your thoughts. The navy sweater coat cardigan in 10 is not in Finds. I need to get a photo. The one that is is the navy cardigan in 8 ( I think.). I also need to make a find for the shoes in the first group, blush with a flower. They are probably getting dated but are pretty and so comfortable.
I tucked the blouse for church but may wear it out with rolled jeans for summer casual.

  • Laurie replied 8 years ago

You look so pretty in blush, Joy.   I love 1-5 the most.  Blouse is so soft and feminine.

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

YES. This palette is amazing with your hair, Joy. My faves are #2, 4 and 8. Gorgeous on you.

  • replied 8 years ago

I'm impressed at your collection! Really like the new Rebecca Taylor blouse - it seems to be quite versatile - causal or more dressy as you have styled it in the different outfits.

  • MsMaven replied 8 years ago

Great capsule! I like ##1, 3, 4, 12 & 13 the best--you look gorgeous in these. I like the peasant top the least--it doesn't seem like you and doesn't rise to the level of sophistication as the rest of the outfits.
