WIW: More Whiteout and Metallic desert boot wedges' first outing

I asked whether or not to buy some metallic wedge booties out of my comfort zone. I've worn them all day, most of it spent in a training session. They were very comfortable. The booties got no comments but the lace bomber jacket was much admired. The pants are medium charcoal ponte knits. Too frumpy? What do you think? Should I repeat this outfit? ( 1-3). Are the pants too short for the booties?
Yesterday I tried another version of whiteout with my leather moto and with an old consignment find...cream satin down vest. I was wearing a tank under the blouse in #4, but it must have been pulled up in the photo to see the grinning.
I appreciate knowing your thoughts and ideas for improvement on anything you see here.

Love the metallic wedges! The pants length looks good to me as they are tapered. I would admire this lace bomber jacket too! <mild case of bomber envy here>:-)
Love #4: have you tried those wedges with cream jeans?

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Lace bomber is amazing, but so are the shoes and I think they look great with those pants. Love your white outs too!

I think the metallic wedges were a great choice, Joy. You are looking great in all iterations here but the chunky sweater and down vest is my special fave. It has a very relaxed but still elegant vibe. You do the whiteout like no ones business! :)

Love those shoes on you, and Sarah just said the exact same thing I was thinking -- you do whiteout so well!

I have to tell you I thought of you the other night. My hubs and I caught a movie and then popped into a restaurant nearby for dinner. My husband discreetly pointed out a couple seated near us and told me how beautiful he thought her hair was. She had your exact same hair! I warned him that when I go grey, it will probably not look so sleek and silvery, but he said he didn't care, and that whenever and however I choose to go grey, he will love it. :-)

Thank you for taking time to look and comment.
Sveta, I'm happy that you like the wedges. I had the cream jeans on when I tried them on. You can see a bit of them in the shoe picture. They have been in the laundry, but maybe tomorrow they will meet again.
Shevia, the light grey in the lace of the bomber looks better with the shoes than it appears in the photo. I'm glad that they are working with these pants.
Sarah, thank you. The vest with the sweater and jeans was an accidental discovery made while looking for more to add for warmth.
Janet, how sweet of you to think of me when seeing someone with great hair! You will look beautiful when the time comes to go grey. I predict that there will be lots of great hair products for the sleek silvery look by then as there will be more and more older men and women wanting them.

Just look at you rocking those wedge heels, Joy. 2014 is off to a rocking start.

YES. By all means wear that first fabulous outfit again. Gorgeous bookending.

And you know you launch me into orbit with your Winter Whiteout. xo

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

I really wish I look at least half as good as you do at your age. You are an inspiration to many of us young mums here. I am sure you know that :)

The shoes are too cool and you should definitely repeat every outfit in this post. The winter whiteouts are brilliant too! I am still looking for the perfect white moto. Now you have got yourself some jacket envy too :D. That too at knockout price!

You look phenomenal Joy!  Those gold boots are super great and I want them!

Love whiteout in pic#4! Also glad you got those cool boots!

  • Catnip replied 10 years ago

Joy, both outfits look great.  I love the bomber jacket and the shoes are fab.  I want them.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Both outfits are beautiful, Joy. Glad those booties are comfortable.

  • Debbie replied 10 years ago

Joy you look great in all of the these. You have inspired me to order some gold booties that I have been hesitating on. Your white out outfits are amazing!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Angie, Neel, LACeleste, Parkmommychic, Catnip, Suz, and Debbie thank you for commenting, your kind words and giving me a boost of confidence, especially when it comes to the new boots. I am amazed at how comfortable they are right out of the box and with the heel height, something I'm not used to. They are DV Dolce Vita Kaly that I found at the Rack for those who would like to find them. I got my normal size.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Ooh, love both - and the boties - but I especially love the winter white!

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

So glad the booties were comfortable. Cute and comfortable can be such a rare find!

I am swooning veer your winter white out! Repeat, repeat, repeat!

  • dlb1960 replied 10 years ago

I just love the metallic wedges. Can't believe no one commented on them! I want a pair. They are fab!!!

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

Both looks are a homerun.  The metallic booties bookend your hair nicely.  And the white outfit is lovely too.  Two great looks to repeat here.

  • viva replied 10 years ago

Fabulous outfits and I love those metallic wedges -- they are really gorgeous! Love how they look with your hair.

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

I'm glad to hear that the metallic wedge booties are comfortable, because they sure do look great! I think they'll look great with your cream jeans, too.

Both of these outfits look great. That lace bomber is super- I can see why people admired it.

But, oh my goodness, whiteout outfits are BEYOND fabulous on you!
That one with the sweater, vest, and scarf is SUPER!
    You look truly fabulous.

  • Elizabeth P replied 10 years ago

Oh Joy, once again you nailed your outfits!  You must have been feeling a bit put out by nobody commenting on your booties, but don't.  They're awesome, and it's great that they are comfy too.  Now, the whiteout... holy smokes.  You should get a few more variations of this look, as it's so so so awesome on you.

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

    Greetings, Joy!

The booties look both comfy and fab.  I think the grinning in #3 is made more visible in photos than it would seen IRL.  The jackets are fresh and beautiful -- wear both outfits again!

  • Mo replied 10 years ago

the shoes are great!  Glad you got them.  I prefer them with the lighter pants. Nice white out look!
