WIW: knotted top trick

Just a daily outfit for hot weather, meeting friends for coffee and quiche.
Pants are EF deep navy from eBay. Tee is Equipment woven silk with tiny dots. Ankle strap flats are DV. I'm not thinking that this was a success. How can I improve this outfit?

Joy, I think the knot needs to shift a little more to the middle. That's all. Rest looks fab. Great colour on you.

Why don't you try half tucking the front?....That would give you a flat front and shirt hanging on one side...
I really like the color and navy with it...
    (You always look wonderful...This does,too...)_

Looks pretty good to me! I agree with angie about the knot. I think it should be more on the front of your hip. I would maybe ditch the necklace and wear a bangle or cuff instead. But that's just personal preference.

Angie, Crutcher and Brooklyn, thank you for your suggestions. I tried the band in front and below is a photo of the results. I think this is the wrong top for this trick or maybe the banded part needs to be at a different point. The banded part is heavy and does not stay put, but flips down so that it shows on the outside. I'll try again on a shirt with more volume.
Brooklyn, I like your idea of a cuff instead of the necklace.

I think you might be right, Joy. Onto the the next top.

Don't think this gorgeous top needs the trick. Silk tends to fall back and maybe create its own structure? You look great though!

You look great, Joy. But as you already figured out, this is the wrong top for the knot trick. That truck works best of oversized cotton tshirts and woven tops....silk will kind of slip out of the tuck and the knot will hang outside.

Angie and Shevia, I think you are right. This top also already has a bottom that is longer front and back. On to another top.

Maneera, we must have posted at the same time. Yes, I have a couple of oversized linen tops on which the trick should work like a charm.

I like this colors on you. Great outfit with or without knot.

Thank you, Celia. This silk top is cool and breezy worn out on a hot day,

Not too bad but thanks for posting. I was trying this on the weekend and went through the exact same steps as you, before coming back to the semi tuck in front. Useful exercise and I appreciate reading the tips put forward here.

The top is beautiful on you as it is.
