WIW: casual tweed with jeans, sneaks and graphic tee

Inspired by Angie's tweed jacket post today, I put together an outfit for a casual day and felt great in it.
Should I have added a scarf or jewelry?
Do the proportions need more work? I do need red shoes! Do the silver sneakers look ok? Something more dressy on my feet?

You look fab and I think the sneakers work perfectly.  If you wear bracelets or a watch, that might have been a nice addition, but the outfit looks great without.

  • Mirjana replied 1 year ago

You look fab, the silver sneakers work super, I prefer them then red shoes, they go with your hair. If you like, maybe silver necklace, but for me this outfit is wonderful as it is now.

What i really appreciate about you joy is tjat you brimg it every time. There 8s no half stepping from you. What a great fit amd i love the shoes.

  • Aquamarine replied 1 year ago

Looks perfect to me, including the shoes. I'm not a scarf person so I vote no. I think tweed is sufficiently interesting without any extra adornments.

  • The Cat replied 1 year ago

Stylish casual ensemble! No scarf or jewelry needed. Your graphic T-shirt says (!) it all. :-)

  • replied 1 year ago

Well done! The jacket color is very nice on you.

  • Donna replied 1 year ago

I like it just the way it is Joy! Very Fab!

  • Diana replied 1 year ago

Love it just the way it is. What a fantastic color for the jacket!

  • replied 1 year ago

I completely love this. No changes needed.

Angie is the genius behind this outfit. Pre-YLF I'd never have thought to combine a tweed jacket with graphic tee and jeans. The jacket was an Angie pick a few years ago and I almost bought it in the red and in black. I wish I had. It is from Hinge (Nordstroms) and has interesting zipper detailing.
Mirjana, I just remembered that I bought a zipper necklace just to wear with this jacket.
Andrea, bracelets are a great idea with these sleeves.
Ledonna, you are a sweetheart. Thank you for the kind words.
Aquamarine, you are right. There is a lot going on with this jacket.
Cat, that graphic tee got lots of raves.
Zoiechic and Diana, the red color sold me on this version of the jacket. It is kind of unexpected for a tweed.
Delurked, thank you. I often need to be reminded not to go too maximal.

Gorgeous, Joy! I love this outfit with the silver sneaks. I want red shoes too - but for me, this outfit is better without them. More interesting and less matchy. (My taste, I know!)

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

You nailed the ensemble - AGAIN.

  • bonnie replied 1 year ago

I like the outfit as shown but the changes you suggested would work well, too. The red belt matching the red jacket and the silver shoes matching the bag are nice touches and the tee is so fun. What does it say?

  • Joyce B replied 1 year ago

I love your outfit, the sneakers go very nicely with it. It seems to me that you can better enjoy fashion where you are living now than where you were living before, good for you!

  • Ryce replied 1 year ago

You always have such a great interpretation of Angie's "looks"! I really like the silver sneakers - to me they kind of make the outfit!

  • Jenn replied 1 year ago

Totally love this, Joy. You look fresh and energetic. And I absolutely think the silver sneakers are the right choice (although, it makes me laugh, because "silver sneakers" is the name of the senior exercise class at the rec center where I work out.)

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Joy, this is fantastic on you. There is nothing better than seeing a silver haired beauty rocking a hip combination like this one.

  • Joy replied 1 year ago

Viva, it is interesting that you like the outfit better with silver sneakers. I think you make a good point.
Angie, wow, a KILLER! I am thrilled and humbled.
Bonnie, the tee was left behind by my son. It says "A city built on rock 'n roll would be structurally unsound".
Joyce, when I think about it, you are right. Older women seem much more free with fashion than where I used to live. Then there seemed to be unspoken "rules".
Ryce and Jenn (and Viva), funny about these sneakers. I love them for their comfort, ease and look. Jenn they do make me feel entergetic, which those senior exercisers need to be. My insurance does not pay for it but I should join anyway. They seem to get a good workout.

Suz, I just saw your kind words. Thank you.

  • celia replied 1 year ago

Wow Joy you always look amazing.
I agree with everyone that you look vibrant and so current.
Angie gives us great 'recipes' but your interpretation nails it every time.

  • shevia replied 1 year ago

Looks pretty much perfect to me!

  • Joy replied 1 year ago

Celia and Shevia, thank you. Angie's "recipes" are ways to have fun in the closet. She has so many wonderful ideas.

This is a fantastic outfit joy, perfect the way it is. I think with the red belt, silver sneaks are just right. Red would be too much. I'm constantly amazed how you manage to pull these ensembles out of thin air.

    Gorgeous, Joy.

  • Firecracker replied 1 year ago

This outfit is awesome, Joy. Nothing else required--it is super just the way it is. I think a scarf would detract from the graphic tee, and its casual feel. I like the metallic sneakers, and they give an extra touch of casual to the look. This outfit is less refined than usual for you, but you definitely own the look--you look perfectly at ease.

  • Meggie replied 1 year ago

    Nailed it!

  • Dianna replied 1 year ago

You look awesome Joy.  I like the outfit the way it is.

  • JAileen replied 1 year ago

I love it! Your shoes look great with your hair.

  • Style Fan replied 1 year ago

Joy you nailed it.  WOW!  I like the outfit just the way it is.  The silver sneaks bookend your hair and there is enough going on with more accessories.  I love the sound of your graphic tee.

  • Joy replied 1 year ago

Thank you, all who commented. I enjoyed wearing this outfit, although, as Sharan says, it is not as polished as I usually like to dress. I am thrilled that it gets YLF approval . Please tell me if I am dressing too youthful for my age so as to look silly.

  • anchie replied 1 year ago

I think it is perfect as is.

  • texstyle replied 1 year ago

This is a great outfit Joy - really nice and no, not too youthful but just the right amount of "fun" to my eye for a casual look.

  • Glory replied 1 year ago

I love it as is. A really great ensemble for you and nicely put together. I am smitten especially with the jeans!

  • CocoLion replied 1 year ago

    Sooo stylish Joy!!!!!

  • Aida replied 1 year ago

Joy you always rock these ensembles! GREAT tweedy jacket. Please wear with all-the-rest white and gold/silver for me sometime :D

(You also find awesome graphic tees ^^)

  • Joy replied 1 year ago
