WIW: Blogger inspired and more

1-4: Inge's blogger of 70's fun inspired me to shop my closet for a bow blouse, coated black jeans, red kitten heels, and 70's-ish velvet blazer. A cream Kate Spade shoulder bag completed my look. Does this work? I added the belt because I need one yo hold up the jeans.

5-6: this started out to be a turtleneck under a blouse for Angie's post, but that was too warm. I used a thin crewneck instead. Old AT silk wrap blouse. Grey coated jeans, tassel necklace, MK silver-tone watch and silvery wedge booties and belt complete the look. I added Kat's taupe velvet blazer to wear outside.
7-10: daytime sparkle with BR cream jeans and a red cotton pullover with suble sequins worn over a red tee. I wore the sweater's matching sequined scarf, sparkly bangles and earrings, and my new SE Petties in bone.
Some of this may be too maximal. I welcome your thoughts and suggestions.
ETA: please comment about fit...good or poor fit. I am still rather clueless about it since living in ill fitting garments most of my life and need to be educated.

Love all of these outfits especially the blogger inspired look. You are looking very festive for the holiday season.

Gorgeous. I want to be you if and when I ever grow up.

Ooh, I'm loving all the cheery reds, lovely texture, shine and sparkle. I personally don't mind a little bit of maximalism occasionally, so I think all your outfits look great!

Bootie, the blogger inspired look was a favorite and will be repeated. Thank you.
    Approprio, you are cute.
Diane, I am not minding some maximalism either, especially at this time of year when there are worries about the heat. Thank you for your comment.

    Sensational all round, Joy.

#1 is a fabulous mix or Retro '80s and '70s. Killer.

    #2 is a very creative Grey-Out.

    #3 is Candy Cane Fun.

I like them all! These are so fun and festive looking, with your usual stylish flair. Your first one is a great interpretation of the blogger's look, in colors that flatter you. I also think yours is just as fab, with the low (more walkable, for some of us!) heel.
As fantastic as 1 is, my jaw kind of dropped at outfit 2. The blouse is so gorgeous, and you are stunning in it. I love the layers of texture and shine here, with the coated jeans, the velvet blazer, tassel necklace, and cool lace-up booties. The last red and white outfit is also fun, with the subtle sparkle of the sequins.
All your fits look fine, Joy--whatever fit issues you had in the past seem to be just that--in the past. :)

All three look fab - the first is my favorite but they are all excellent. I really don't see any fit issues.

  • gradfashionista replied 8 years ago

I really like the third outfit by a tiny margin, but that's my own aversion to pattern at the moment. The first outfit is pretty spectacular, and I had a tough time deciding between the two. Everything looks like it was made for you.

You look stunning, and oh-so-hip in 5, 6! I love these outfits.
And of course you look very festive in the red velour/velvet.
    Love!

Sharan, Shevia, Grandfashionista and Smittie, thank you so much for your encouraging comments and taking the time to look at these outfits. The top in 5/6 has been a favorite for several years as it dresses up a pair of blue jeans as well as black dress pants.

  • LaPed replied 8 years ago

All great, especially loving the grey-on-grey in 5/6 -- my fave for sure. That shirt is beautiful.

  • CocoLion replied 8 years ago

You dress so well.  I mean, every single time!  You can do no wrong in my book.  Flawless casual chic style.  Plus:  I admire your skill with color, something I'm thinking a lot about these days.

  • Cococat replied 8 years ago

I'm with CocoLion. You always look fantastic. My favourite is the grey look. Very cool Joy.

  • Brooklyn replied 8 years ago

The third outfit is lovely but the first 2 are just downright fantastic. :)

  • Mellllls replied 8 years ago

    I love the first one.

  • donnat replied 8 years ago

The first one has such a nice retro vibe to it. I Love the Grey color combo.
The red sweater looks beautiful and festive.
    Three winners.

  • Meredith replied 8 years ago

All of these look great, but the first is perfection. Love the color, love the retro.

  • Elizabeth P replied 8 years ago

I had the same reaction as Sharan... my jaw dropped when I got to #5.  Wowzers.  But all three are fab.  I love seeing your posts!

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Thank you for all the helpful comments. I have to run , but will try to respond more later.

What wonderful holiday looks!  The combo of the velvet with sheen in the pants is particularly fab ---  you look terrific, Joy!
