WIW: Black-White-Grey and Style Icon

The third photo shows my version of the black/white/grey ensemble except for not showing the pewter bag. 1-2 are inspired by Anna Wintour. Suggestions and comments welcomed

Your Anna Wintour interpretation is spot on... and absolutely stunning.
What a gorgeous dress! Outfit #3 is lovely too. I love your released hem crops. And where did you get those fab shoes?

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you, El Cee. The shoes in #3 are Eileen Fisher that I have had for at least a year. I will try to add a find for them.

Those are wonderful. And they look comfy. I am always looking for summer shoes that have toe coverage, but are still airy. I will see if I can find them on Amazon. Thanks.

    Both outfits are great.

I see Anna Wintour in your beautiful dotty dress and your perfect hair. Love your gray, black, white outfit, too.

  • Jaime replied 7 years ago

Both are fantastic on you. Elegant!

Your dotted dress outfit is beautiful. It does evoke Anna Wintour's classic, polished, feminine style. The second outfit is lovely on you as well--the cropped flares are terrific. I like your addition of red to the ensemble.

You look great.  That spotted dress is very pretty and is like what the lady like Anna Wintour would wear.  I like the cropped jeans outfit too...more french chic.

Joy, everything looks great. I definitely see the Anna Wintour influence. I adore your scarf. Black and white (with grey) are not my personal favorite so I love that you have a touch of fuschia. The Asian print is gorgeous.

Beautiful on you, Joy, and absolutely up to your icon's standards!

Thank you all for your lovely comments. I wanted to look more Anna by wearing a jacket with the dress, but could not find one that I liked while having to dash out the door. This was also what I wore for turning 70. Yikes! That is old. I need to get into a yoga class or something.

Yep, nailed her. I prefer #3 though, I'm not a fan of her style, too retro/conventionally feminine and too maximal for my taste.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you, Skylurker. I understand about too maximal and have to fight that tendency in cooler weather.
El Cee,the EF flats run true to size if you find them. I tried a half size up too and it would also have worked. There is a taupe color called "granite" and a black suede in the Allot style.

That is a perfect Anna W outfit.  That lady is so put together, it's quite intimidating!

Really love the second outfit, it's so casually sophisticated.

  • tulle replied 7 years ago

I'm going to commit fashion heresy and say that I think you are more elegant than Anna Wintour!  She strikes me as rigid, lacking  joie de vivre or sensuality.  Your elegance seems natural, uncontrived and happy.

you look very good in a dress, definitely Anna inspired

  • texstyle replied 7 years ago

Really beautiful - that dress is so pretty on you!  I also love the outfit in #3. Great rendition of your style icon here.

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

You look Killer Gorgeous in both outfits, Joy.

  • Bennett replied 7 years ago

Loving that dress - how the spots are falling to the hem! That little detail makes it so interesting and eye-catching. And I love me some lady-like shoes!!! I feel like I could shop your closet very happily. I look forward to seeing your outfits!

Thank you all for your encouraging comments.
Xtabay, using Anna Wintour as a fashion icon ...well, intimidating is a good word.
Tulle, you are a sweetheart. I hope that I can aspire to a happy, natural elegance.
Olga and Texstyle, thank you for your lovely comments. I have always loved that dress and felt ladylike wearing it.
Angie, you made my day. I'll bask in your "Killer Gorgeous"
Bennett, I loved your comment. These shoes are probably some of the most ladylike I have. I'm happy that you like my outfits.
