Utility Dressed Up

Inspired by Angie's blog post today. I was going to wear the denim pencil skirt ensemble and then realized that I would be entertaining a 2-year old all day. With this outfit I can sit on the floor and hopefully still look pulled together. The first photo is more dressed up with kitten heeled pumps. Photo 2 is reality with gold loafers. Photo 3 is a closer look at gold jewelry... not as cluttered as it looks. What do you think?
Brown utility pants, old Michael Kors top, assorted old jewelry, Kate Spade gold tote.

Joy, you look fab, you took the inspiration and made the look your own. As always, I love how you accesorize.

I absolutely love this look on you. Great colors, so put together, and like both shoe options for differing needs.

Super cute. I actually like the "reality" loafers version better.

  • Style Fan replied 6 years ago

Love this outfit.  I prefer the loafers version.

Nice proportions!  I think you got the top length, pant length and shoe vamp just right.

Your outfit requirement for the day--be able to sit on the floor with a 2-year-old--made me smile! What a great outfit. You are one stylish play date!

So,soooooo beautiful I am excited, you look gorgeous. I especially love #1 with the pumps, really dressed up , but also like with the gold loafers. As Angie said Killer.

This looks stunning on you, Joy. I love everything about the outfit and also prefer the version with loafers.

Thank you all for your enthusiasm and comments and preferences.  Angie, A Killer!  I am loving this ensemble even more.

Green jeans, thank you for the comment on the proportions.  It is an effort to get that to work and I'm grateful to know when it is right.

The two-year-old is adorable and gets me involved in cars, trucks and trains most days. We have to number all the vehicles with marker, then make numbered parking places on a big dry erase board on the floor.  He matches up vehicle numbers with the right parking spot.  Who know Hot Wheels could be educational?

Ledonna, you have lots of fun ahead.  I think of those Japanese seniors who can squat and sit on the floor with no problems in their 80's and more.

Rachy, I should add a photo of our "diggety-dog" Mags, just back from the groomer today.  She is as fluffy as a cotton ball and also likes to invade floor play with her own toys.  I think that she likes to see what a Kong can do to a neat lineup of little cars.

Perfect! I agree the proportions, color, all work. *And* its comfortable enough to entertain a 2 year old? I'd say that's a pretty fab outfit.

I looooooove this!  I'm partial to olive/brown utility and cargo pants, and yours look so pretty paired with that leopard top.  I like the shoes you wore in reality better.  You look polished and ready to take on anything... even a 2 year old!

  • The Cat replied 6 years ago

Joy, that top is GORGEOUS on you! The pumps are very chic and look sophisticated with the top. Gold accessories harmonize with your personal colours as well as the outfit.

  • Eliza replied 6 years ago

Love this look on you! It is very Joy! Well done.

Thank you all for the confidence building comments. I am sorry not to go into more detail on each one. Too much time consumed by the toddler.

  • harmonica replied 6 years ago

YLF! You look like a star. #1 is my favorite. Have fun with our toddler!

  • Bijou replied 6 years ago

You look super glamorous for your play date!

  • skylurker replied 6 years ago

Fabulous. Looks like you've stepped out of a Michael Kors' ad (I guess it's the leopard mixed with gold that give me this vibe). Like both shoes with the outfit.
