Today's Pattern Mixing: 2 Plaids and a floral plus striped socks ( ETA photos of today’s mix)

After reading Angie's blog on pattern mixing, I could hardly wait to see what my cold weather clothes could offer. No picture yet of the outfit but the items from Finds: plaid jeans, plaid flannel shirt used as a jacket, floral top...all in reds and blues. My socks are wool navy and tweedy cream striped. It is pretty hectic as the Reds and blues are not a great match. The blue in the jeans looks a bit more teal than I'd like...not good with the plaid shirt's blue but pretty good with the background blue of the blouse.
What do you think? I wore this mostly for a casual day of cleaning, cooking and dog walking. Do I dare wear it out for a casual meal ?
Scroll down for today’s pattern mix.. casual black and white checks.

    Love it!

Thank you , Donna. Patterns in general are lacking in my colder weather wardrobe so this was a stretch.

Advanced color mixing - looking forward to the photo.

    Let’s see a photo...looks like a fun mix.

I think it looks good, Joy! It reminds me of Angie's example of "spice it up" (busy patterns in the same palette). I could see the two tops with a railroad-stripe denim pant, too, or jeans with plaid flannel lining, rolled to show the lining.

Bonnie and Aquamarine, thank you for your comment. It does not look like I will get a photo of this outfit, but I see a mix of black and white checks tomorrow.

hmmmmm. well i know that pattern mixing isn't  my thing, so take this with a grain of salt.....i like the floral top with the plaid shirt, but i'd try solid bottoms instead....

Today’s pattern mixing of black and white checks. The scarf was a mistake but I liked the white with black dots.

I like it and I think the little scarf is cute.

Thank you, ladies for your comments and encouragement. I even pattern mixed for Thanksgiving ( floral top and leopard scarf with rust pants. Colder and I planned to add a brown and cream plaid blazer).
Jussie, I liked the looks of that skinny scarf but it was not practical when cooking lots and tended to come untied at the worst times.
I wore mixed prints again today and will try to add finds. It has been horribly busy. Today toddler grandson was with us and spent the night. I was hours on hands and knees building an airport out of Legos and making s clue chain for him to read to find a new bath toy while DH enjoyed a glass of wine. DGS wants lots of assurance that he is my favorite person. He is adorable but so is is baby sister who is amazing at a year old and getting into his toys. He sits and patiently feeds her and reads books to her. Precious times, but so intense. DS gets almost no sleep and comes to our place to sneak a nap.
