Tee shirt dress ETA: more Casual Dresses

It”s a Sunday and a dress day. Here is my tee shirt dress entry. It has performed well on a hot day. Tomorrow may be hot so I plan to try a denim shirt waist and to add a photo to this thread
Details on tee shirt dress, an older EF dress in linen and cotton blend knit. Shoes are also EF. A recent sale online purchase and great for summer in place of sandals. These are called “opal” color, a pinky beige with a tiny gold metallic stripe. These are 1/2 size larger than my usual size and fit perfectly. The small bag is a European brand via consignment...Sherpai.
It feels well made with an easy zipper closure and several pockets inside.
My hope is that the light leather detail blends with the espadrilles. Does it?
If needed, I could use a long black linen cardi or big white linen shirt as a topper. I wore this to watch church services on utube. Sad as it is our priest’s last service after more than 50 years as an active parish priest. The new guy, very young, starts next week and has huge shoes to fill, not only in the parish but in the whole community.

Love you tee dress and the way you styled it.

  • kkards replied 3 years ago

    Perfect summer outfit.
I hope that the parish will do something for the priest next year, it feels like 50 years should be honored in some way more than a video service

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you all for your kind replies and enthusiasm for this outfit.

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

    Joy, this look is perfect!

  • Mainelady replied 3 years ago

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

    Everything blends nicely!

Wow! 50 years is a good long run :) I hope your outgoing priest enjoys his retirement!

  • unfrumped replied 3 years ago

I love this dress on you. Though easy —fitting it fits very well. And the color/ pattern is great.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you JAileen, Mainelady, Rachylou and Unfrumped. Rachylou and
Kkards, this priest has been at this parish for 18 years. He will probably spend some time with his sons and grandchildren, He adopted a couple of
.children years ago and raised them by himself so he knows single parenting. He has solved problems in the community to everyone’s satisfaction and has been a mediator over the years.. He has had services out in the fields for migrant workers and has got a passion for mental health. Before entering the priesthood he was a singer in a band.. He also plays several instruments.

Oooh, I really like the pearl jewelry with this dress. The espadrilles are fantastic, too. Yes, the bag works nicely--the light leather does play nicely with the shoes, the stripes, and the light jewelry. What a sad time for your priest to retire--no chance for in-person farewells. :(

You look beautiful in these colors, as always.  The whole outfit is a great way to comfortably dress up a bit in hot weather.  The shoes are very cute; you’ll probably get a lot of use from them.

Speaking of shoes, it sounds like the new, young priest will definitely have huge ones to fill.  Your retiring priest had some extraordinary gifts.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Firecracker and Windchime, thank you for your comment. The dress performed very well in hot weather. I am glad that you liked the shoes and that they blend with the bag, at least with this outfit. I ‘m pleased with them.

Above I added a casual sleeveless denim dress worn today. The dress is Gap from a thrift shop worn over a tomato red tank and with tomato red Anne Klein Sport shoes and tomato red Nicole Miller crossbody consignment bag and trip souvenir coral earrings. The dresses is cool for summer being sleeveless and heavy enough not to need a slip. This outfit was worn for gardening and cleaning a basement closet which mostly involved sorting through boxes of old toys to get some different things out for the grandchildren. Your thoughts and ideas for improvements are welcomed.

I love the tshirt dress with pearls especially!

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

More love for the striped dress! So fab. I think the denim dress looks great with the red accents. Can't go wrong with either for summer dressing!

  • RainB replied 3 years ago

Love both dresses and how you've styled them, especially your jewellery with the striped dress! It all looks so comfortable and pretty.

  • Minaminu replied 3 years ago

Joy, I am starting to think that I could easily shop from your wardrobe :) .
Beautiful pieces and they all suits you very well! I particularly like the espadrilles, I'd never thought to wear them with dresses but they do work !

  • Liesbeth replied 3 years ago

Both amazing outfits, and so perfectly accessorized!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, ladies. It makes me happy to wake up to such lovely comments. Angie’s summer dress blog entry has put me on a roll to try more summer dresses. Today I think I will try another dress or a skirt.

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

Oh, I like this dress, too. Your thrift finds are wonderful.

  • avicennia replied 3 years ago

Lovely summer outfits. They are comfortable, cool and classic. I say it makes sense to put together more outfits like these!

  • replied 3 years ago

These are both wonderful dresses on you Joy.  And those new espadrilles are perfect - great score.  Your hair continues to look really good too - are you able to get into salons where you live now?

  • replied 3 years ago

I like how where the blogs are, your striped t shirt dress is right over Angie's :) Love the espadrilles!

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

These are both terrific dresses on you, Joy. I especially like the t-shirt dress. And the red shoes! How are things going with the glucose meter? Are you finding styles that let you work with it?  And I am joining the chorus of comments on your beautiful hair. It's so distinctive and lovely.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

You are all so kind. I have not been to the hair salon since February, so this is usually just out of the shower wet stringy hair.
Suz, the glucose meter and style is still a work in progress. I have learned that low stretchy waist lines work best with pants...nothing with an elastic panel to minimize the stomach and longer loose tops or dresses without a waist are best. Good to try on what I have but most are loose. The denim shirt dress in this post is iffy. The waist sits rather high. Tell me if you think I should retire that dress.

Yet another summer casual dress. This is an EF linen two piece and the bottom matches the top better than it looks in these photos. A column of coral with a linen floral jacket ( Citron Santa Monica) and EF espadrilles and Nicole Miller bag. The necklace is from a consignment shop and pieces of coral with gold tag.
