Very 2015. You look hip and fab, Joy. The red accents pull the look together really well.

Thank you, Angie. I think I'll wear this to run errands this morning.

The brightness on my screen is making everything look a bit washed out for some reason, but I kind of like it and yes, if I could pull that off, I would definitely wear it. I could see my DD wearing it for sure!

Hmm, maybe this is a look that is too young for me. ROG had another wild pick with a patterned skirt plus patterned shirt that might be cute on a young person, but I thought it was just the skirt, which is fuller and shorter than I usually wear.

I am surprised to say: IT TOTALY WORKS to me and love! The hues in the jacket and the shirt are similar which is pleasing and calms down a bit the wild pattern mixing plus the red shoes really tie in all together! I don't think it's only for the youngers, for looking authentic- but it rather needs a creative and brave enough personality(which I think you are-at any age:-)).

After reading and looking at the finds I thought I'd have to see it...It does look great together to me too!

I think you look waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cute! Your proportions look really great. LOVE your pattern mixing! Just my two cents...thank you for sharing...Inspiring...a look I might try in EARLY spring here, in Atlanta

Oooh! I like it, Joy. Love the touches of red. Fun fun pattern mix.

Wow! I would not have thought to put the plaid with the kimono, but the pattern mix looks unexpectantly good! I do wish that the plaid was collarless so that it seems more casual and summery like the kimono. The red pumps bookend the red in the kimono print so well. Must always pair those two. :-)

What is the style of those Me Too pumps? They look FAB!

Thank you each for your comments. I was surprised to see so many favorable opinions. I think the plaid shirt works because it is not flannel but a silky semi-transparent fabric. I am wearing a white tank under it.
The kimono print incorporates large Chinese dragons with claws with floral and a suggestion of water and waves. It's a good "teacher" piece because the kids love it.
AJ, the red Me Too pumps style is called Element. I bought them in 4 colors a few years ago at DSW. They run true to size, maybe slightly wide. They are as comfortable as flats. I don't know if they are still available.
I folded the shirt collar under so that the shirt looks collarless or like a low Mandarin collar and think it looks better. This trick works well if the shirt or blouse is buttoned up all the way.
Melissa, it still feels like early spring here. I am grateful to have some actual spring before the hot humid stuff hits.

I LOVE IT! The kimono is better than the bomber to my eye.

Hi, Joy. Yep, that is what I meant. I expected that you still had some cooler temps where you are. I am envious of your cooler temps. I am melting already. You mentioned that you thought your outfit maybe was too young-looking? NOPE. You look so well-pulled together...not too young of a look.

Oh, what a difference a monitor can make! I am in love with all the color here! It's like a children's container of watercolor paints exploded all over your clothes! (It was so washed out on the previous monitor)

LOVE it! Yes, I wish the temperatures here were cool enough to wear this outfit. Good job!

Joy replied 9 years ago
Una, that is high praise for the kimono. Thank you.
Melissa and Holly Rodgers, we are usually melting ( and spawning tornados because of the heat) by now. I hope that you see some cooler days soon.
Staysfit, I love the mind picture that you paint. I'm glad that you were able to see the colors.

I really like this. Great pattern mixing. It's surprising how well the floral and plaid work together.

I think this is surprisingly good. The red accents really pull the look together. I'm not usually much for pattern mixing but the plaid and chinese pattern look good together.

Joy replied 9 years ago
Thank you Sara and Rachylou, I was surprised that these patterns would work together as well as they do.

Your fling with ROG is really pushing your comfort zone, but WOWSA! The combinations are so fabulous, and really fashion forward without being silly. I love your outfit today, and want to see the clashing print one applied!
