My Soft Wide Summer Pants ETA: white (bone) Pants

Angie’s ensemble blog post this week inspired me to wear a pair of wide cropped soft linen/cotton pants today(1/2). Other photos are of recent outfits. #3 is with a different styling. #4 is white linen pants. I will be back to add soft silk pants from my phone. #5/6 feature black slouchy silk EF pants.
I miss my jeans but these are actually cooler to wear on a warm day and easy to move in. What do you think? Too casual? Should I stick to skirts and dresses? The shirt as jacket in #2 is not the best. I only wore it at home during cool morning and evening temperatures.
#7-9: what I wore for 50th wedding anniversary outdoor dinner. I was going to change into the bone skirt but DH said to dress casually as we will be outside in the heat. I changed into shiny gold espadrilles. I will take the gold scarf but it may be too warm to wear. I have layered 3 floaty tops over the wide pants. Too much?

These are all great IMO! :)

Wow. Those olive pants are so lovely and dramatic! 2, 5 and 6 are my favorites - the latter make me want to buy ankle strap shoes, they so effectively dress up those outfits!

  • Minaminu replied 3 years ago

Great outfits!!! Very stilysh in the white trousers!!!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Rachylou, Liesbeth and Minaminu. I also have slouchy EF silk lantern pants in an off white that are worn most to dress up a bit like a neighborhood party, because white and dry clean. But they make a good dressy comfortable outfit so I keep, them.

    I like those a lot!

Are those EF shoes? I have ankle strap flats but also bought EF low heels on sale due to FOMO if styles are not continued.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, unfrumped. The shoes in 1/2 are EF. I have several pairs of EF shoes and have found them very comfortable in my regular size. Their espadrilles are my favorite summer shoe. I always look for sales.

Joy, your outfits and your style amaze me. You always look completely put together and cool.

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

I really like all of these outfits, too. Your linen pants are beautiful.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Bonnie and Catherine. The linen pants are EF from early spring...maybe last summer’s as they were on sale.

Those wide leg pants are wonderful and wonderful on you - I like all three outfits with those, but I’m partial to 3 with the casual tee. The other pants are great, too - those linen pants are lovely. Who needs jeans?

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

WOW to the first outfit, Joy! KILLER fab soft wide printed pants, and with my favourite Maggie tee :)

You make a glucometer look mega stylish. IMPRESSED!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you Preppy Pear and Angie! Yes, I am doing well without jeans for summer. I may have to layer under bottoms for winter. I managed to fine 3 that are fairly warm. One is a deep blue-red but it is away from my face.
I added the bone white silk lantern pants with mostly other bone pieces and metallic gold accessories for our 50th wedding anniversary today. How fast the 50 years have gone! *Sigh* We were supposed to be in Europe but cancelled some time ago. DH thinks we are too old to travel anymore and maybe he is right. He worries about my diabetic challenges and eating and I worry about his heart and the blood thinners. Instead we ordered a lovely fountain for the garden that will be installed next week.

Happy anniversary! The fountain sound beautiful. You carry off all these wide leg looks with panache!

  • CocoLion replied 3 years ago

Just want to say -- happy anniversary and you were so fabulously attired for the celebration!  If anyone came to my restaurant dressed like that I would stop them and ask them to let me photograph them.

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 3 years ago

Very stylish, Joy, and also looking cool and comfortable for the summer. I really like the anniversary look.

  • nemosmom replied 3 years ago

Happy Anniversary, Joy! You look absolutely beautiful in all of these (and I always love your keen eye for accessorizing).

Happy Anniversary!   You look beautiful <3

My favorites are #2, and #4-9, for polished, easy elegance.   But all of  these looks are really lovely!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, lovely stylish ladies. I am happy that you like these outfits. You have helped me find new summer looks.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Your layered white look is sublime :)

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Angie. I am so happy that you approve.

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

Happy Anniversary! Your layered outfit is fab! I'm envious of your great  collection of white pieces - especially white toppers ( not an easy find this days )!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Slim cat, I use toppers all year so am always looking for light weight for summer and warm ones for winter. They can also serve as a third piece to make an outfit more completed. The sleeveless ones work well for this in summer.

Happy Anniversary!  The fountain is a wonderful way to recognize the occasion.  Don’t give up on travel yet, though; see how you and DH feel about it when we get to the other side of this pandemic.  My blind father flew every winter to visit family several states away when he was in his 80’s.

Oh, the outfits.  :)  I love the elegance of 7 and 8.  It’s sure not too much for my eye.

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

So, so, so chic. I absolutely LOVE you in a warmer white with a dark neutral ... it's just perfection on you. Love all of these looks!
