Lots of Eileen

Continuing my personal June challenge of finding and analyzing pieces in my summer closet, this week new-to-me items, I pulled out EF pieces I'd found last winter on consignment or eBay but had yet to style. These are mid to light neutrals.
Yesterday I wore consignment EF linen ankle pants, consignment EF linen buttondown in linen, and EF Allot shoes. I also tried on an eBay find of EF silk print she'll, perfect for hot weather.
Today I am wearing EF viscose blend pants bought last year for a trip with an EF eBay buy of light gray tank with beading. These pants can also be worn ankle length or rolled. Usually I wear the Allot shoes but today have on Rockport athletic flats for the gym. I also am using a very old EF white unlined jacket for air conditioning.
I'd appreciate your thoughts, critique and suggestions, if you aren't EFd out.
(Terrible photos of the pants in Finds. I need to figure out a better way to photograph them.)

You found some nice treasures! I love the silk shell and the way you are also able to roll the pants.

Nice e-bay finds Joy. The light palette is very soft and calming. I love the speckled print on the silk shell and the rolled pants in #4 look like a great fit. The sleeveless tank looks good over them.

Re-photo taking... If I can't get things to look good on a hanger I lay them flat on a very pale floor instead and get a picture from above.

Thank you Pil and Diane.  I was motivated to try eBay after Shannon was finding so many great things.  When pieces are $9.99 to $20, they are not so precious that they have to be saved and the fabrics are wonderful in the heat.  I will enjoy wearing most of these pieces on a daily basis.

Diane, thank you for the photo tip.  I need to replace those pictures.

Blindgal reporting for duty: Can't give you feedback on the pants, but as a recent EF initiate, my mouth is watering to hear about all the EF pieces you have. That is all. :pYour reply

Love you in #4 & 5. All look cool and comfy, but the last two have the effortlessly polished look I love.

Robin, I will try to describe more. There are three outfits, the first two both having the same pants and different tops that I want opinions about. The pants are a soft slightly draped medium taupey tan linen, bigger at the top and then the legs taper to the ankle where there is a sewn flat cuff. I am wearing them at their full length here, but on a hotter day they can be rolled higher on the calf. They are rather wrinkled on the legs as happens with linen.
The first top worn with them is a sleeveless pale taupe linen with simple straight lines. The top buttons up the front with lovely little decorative buttons covered with the same linen as the top. I am wearing it untucked and it hits a bit below the waistband with little slits at the side seems. The whole look seems soft and slightly slouchy. On my feet I am wearing an EF flat shoe that shows the foot between closed somewhat pointed toe and closed heel with zippers on the back. There is a wide soft ankle wrap ( wide stretchy fabric strap that matches the shoe). The color of the shoes is a medium taupe similar to the color of the pants.
( I will continue in another post as my iPad sometimes freezes up)

I especially like the second and third outfit. The tank shape is gorgeous on you. I also love the long shorts. If I am going to be picky, the first top is very nice but seems a bit short for the pants. Nonetheless you look lovely there too.

The second EF top worn with the same pants and shoes is a wonderful floaty light-weight silk printed with a design that reminds me of marble or drops of paint on wet paper that spread out. The colors are greys, taupes, dark brown and a rust. The pattern is not evenly spaced but more like a painting. It continues on the back. The print keeps the pull-on woven top from being transparent so that a cami isn't needed. Cooler in heat that way. It has a slight scooped neck and falls loosely from the shoulders and neck so that it moves when you move. The taupe, a major color in the print, is close to the color of the pants.

I love the EF pieces and I am lusting after those EF Allot shoes.

The third outfit is a long 100% light taupey grey fine knit tank with a scattering of the tiniest little grey sequins in front in a loose V under the scooped neck. I tucked some of the shirt into the waistband of the pants so that the loose part draped across stomach in front and hips in back at a diagonal.
The Eileen a Fisher pants are a knit pull-on of viscose, nylon and Lycra. They are fitted but not tight and the narrow legs can be left full length of rolled. They are wonderful for summer. These are a medium grey.
The shoes are Rockport slip on athletic maryjanes with a strap across the top of the foot and rubber soles. These pants work best for me with a long top or topper.

Thank you, MsMaven, Shevia and Debbie. MsMaven, I am thrilled that you see an effortlessly polished look as that is what I aspire to.
Shevia, thank you for your honest assessment of that first top. I suspect that it may become a layering piece and will try that another day. I think I fell for the buttons.
Debbie, I love these shoes and am surprised that I wear the " Quartz" color more than the black so far. I want to wear them every day.

The printed silk top sounds charming, artsy without being totaly in your face.

The third outfit sounds like it fits together really well.

    Thanks for all the descriptions!

Oh Eileen...how much do I love thee??

Fabulous choices here Joy and you wear them to perfection !!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 8 years ago

SQUEEE!!!! I'm clapping my hands for you Joy - these are all FABULOUS pieces for you and will be interchangeable with so many items. Don't you just adore linen in the heat?

And "EF'd out" you ask? NEVER!

  • Daria replied 8 years ago

I especially like the top in 2/3 and the pants rolled. :)
As for the photos, sometimes I find photos of my items on ebay - they are often better quality than what I can do myself.

  • donnat replied 8 years ago

    Some lovely pieces there.

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Robin, I'm glad the descriptions helped. Thank you for coming back to comment.
Shannon, I thought of you when posting this thread. You are my inspiration.
Daria, taking the ebay photos is a good idea. I'd not thought of it.
Brooklyn, Sterling, Dakotacheryl, and dinner, thank you. I think that I will enjoy these pieces.

Diana, thank you for the tip on photographing pants on the floor. I think the grey pair look much better. The taupe linen were washed and need to be ironed, but they will get a new photo too.
