K/R: sweater, skirt, booties, jacket. Help!

One of my goals has been to buy fewer but better quality. However, I just got my credit card bill. Yikes. Here are some recent purchases still with tags. The EF black culottes were another but are in for alterations. Please tell me what you think of these:
1-3: EF merino wool sweater in more of an orangey red than it may look in the photos plus Naturalizer booties with close up in 4. I have wanted one of these sweaters and think it would fit my lifestyle and climate well. I am wearing a cotton tank under the sweater. Also shown are booties. I have wanted some this color and own belts and a bag that are close in color.
5-6: brown leather Classiques Entiere skirt. I did not move my brown leather skirt from past years as it was a bit too tight. This one is very comfortable but I'm wondering if I need it. It also seems right for the climate and could be dressed down. I am wearing it with brown suede boots that I own. It can also be seen in the next photos with the jacket. The skirt is a cordovan reddish brown called burgundy stem.
7-11: Tahari faux leather jacket. I have been wanting one this color or something similar and thought faux leather would be easier to clean on a light color. The sleeves are a bit long but probably could be shortened. Otherwise it is just big enough to layer underneath. The color is shown best in the last photo.
Please let me know what you think of these items. I could keep them all and SYC for awhile but would like your input as I don't trust my judgement. All are about 50% off the full price or more but I am willing to return and practice PPP.

If I had to pick favorites I would pic the sweater and booties. But in reality they all look nice! Sorry to be an enabler;)

  • Janet replied 7 years ago

They all look great! If you forced me to pick two favorites, they would be the jacket and the sweater.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you Zoie and Janet. Your choices are helpful. The skirt may be a return.

  • Mirjana replied 7 years ago

All look nice, but if I have to pick favorites they would be the sweater, the jacket and the booties. Sweater is very nice color and the booties also, the jacket is great and the color suit you.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you, Mirjana. That is very helpful.

Another vote for jacket and sweater... but, honestly, all the items look nice on you.

  • replied 7 years ago

The sweater is great with your hair colour.
I love the dark brown skirt with your boots. They look great together.
I like the booties and the jacket too.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you El Cee and Smittie. So helpful

I'd also say the jacket and the sweater. The sweater is flattering and a great color on you. And that jacket is lovely.

Jacket, Sweater and the boots.  Oh  well, I'm an enabler.  Joy you look fan-Freaken'Tastic in all of this.

  • texstyle replied 7 years ago

I'd say sweater and booties for sure because it sounds like you would use them both quite a lot and they look great. The jacket looks nice but is more iffy to me only because I'm not a fan of faux leather. And the skirt is nice but maybe not as useful?

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 7 years ago

I vote for the sweater and the booties.   I can't recall your climate, but it seems like, based on several years of admiring your WIW posts, that these would be/could be workhorses for you.   And that sweater is terrific on you!

I really like the jacket, but I think it's a big pink icing rose on your cake - it looks great on you, but it's superfluous.

The skirt fits you so nicely (you have a wonderful figure!), but when I see it, I just see a regular skirt.   It doesn't have that stand-out special bit of uniqueness I'm used to seeing on you.

So I'd say... if the skirt and jacket are genuine needs, then yes.   If they are just really good-looking wants... send 'em back.

  • Suz replied 7 years ago

Definitely the sweater since it will get a lot of wear and looks great.

The booties are keepers if the comfort level is there and the need is genuine.

The jacket looks lovely on you but like a few others, I hesitate about faux leather. If this is not an issue for you, then go for it.

I also like the skirt (big help here, right?) but that I will leave to your judgement. :)

As others have said, I like them all on you as well! The Tahari jacket is really beautiful and I am looking for something similar. Where did you find it?

  • carter replied 7 years ago

Some great finds! My favorites are the sweater and booties. I like the jacket, but it feels a little long on you. What do you think?

  • BrieN replied 7 years ago

How does the jacket fit in the shoulders?

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

Big thumbs up on the pullover. Gorgeous on you, Joy. I like the booties next with the jacket.

  • Brooklyn replied 7 years ago

I like it all. Sorry to enable. But the sweater and booties seem like the most useful/versatile items.

  • jill58 replied 7 years ago

I love the jacket and booties. I own Naturalizer booties that I've been very happy with.

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 7 years ago

The sweater is definitely the best of the lot.

  • Bennett replied 7 years ago

In love with the sweater on you... it's a must keep!

In love with the jacket (I have no problem with a good looking faux leather, some are indistinguishable from real leather these days) but I think you need to look for a better fit - it looks too roomy across your shoulders, as well as the long sleeves. The style and color look special on you, though!

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you all for your helpful comments. It is just what I needed. I plan to keep the sweater and booties for sure. I am still not sure about how much use I would get from the skirt. The jacket is a maybe for fit. Chose tet, I found the jacket at the Rack. There was another one in the same color, same brand, but slightly different style in a larger size.
Carter, from looking at the photos, I agree that the jacket looks too long with the skirt. The faux leather feels like a good quality, like the real thing, not plasticy. When I first tried the jacket, I remembered that extra long sleeves were trending. Should I leave them long?

  • LaPed replied 7 years ago

I think I would prefer the jacket with trimmer sleeves. They look too loose compared to the streamlined fit of the body. I think the extra-long sleeves only work if they're fitted enough to look intentional and not just too-big.

If it were me, I would keep the sweater and booties for sure; they look like true workhorses. I'd probably return the jacket and skirt; it seems like you can probably hold out and do better for both of those. PPP, as you say.

  • rachylou replied 7 years ago

I think the sweater and the booties. I'm not that keen on the jacket. I only like it closed... but it feels a bit long to me.

  • Kate replied 7 years ago

You look great in all of them, Joy. But if you're going to pin me down, I'd say sweater & jacket.

  • crazyone replied 7 years ago

Sweater and booties for me.  I'm not a huge fan of the jacket--I think you can do better.

  • Lyn D. replied 7 years ago

The jacket looks to be a great colour on you , but I wonder how a size down would be if you could try it?

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

As much as I love the color, style and quality of the jacket, I do agree that it is too big for me. I really wanted it to work but to practice PPP, I need to keep looking. Crazyone and Lynn, thank you for your help.

  • Avalon01 replied 7 years ago

I think the red merino wool sweater looks great on you, same for the skirt but i also have to agree that the faux leather jacket is too big and wide.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Thank you, Avalon. I think you are right and have returned the jacket to continue the search for a better fit.
