June challenge: Weekend addition

Photos 7-9: Saturday I look inspiration from Angie's outfits chosen with her mum in mind...the middle one with what looks like a silky buttondown top and dark pants. I layered a silk kimono inspired jacket over a deep red tank, worn with dark denim straight jeans and pointy silver flat loafers and a large silver tote. This for a day at a retreat. My challenge was to wear a seldom worn dark red EF tank. Usually I wear the jacket with black or light Aqua tops. I wanted to be comfortable for sitting all day and creative because this was a group of artists. Did I succeed?
Photos 1-6: Today, Sunday, for Mass I wore my favorite dress. It is a black EF silk shift dress that I duplicated when I shrunk out of my first one. It is very plain and can be dressed up or down, belted, jacketed, take all sorts of accessories. I just wish this ballet neck dress came in more colors. It looks as if it has too much volume but hangs well and looks better in motion. In photos 4-6, it is shown with a blush jacket. Is it best open or buttoned? My challenge with this outfit is to wear blush and black, a color combo I have wanted to try since seeing it everywhere a couple of years ago in Japan. I needed to find the right blush. The wedge sandals and jacket are blush with the black dress. Does this work, do you think?

Beautiful dress! I like it best with the blazer unbuttoned or sans blazer. YLF!

Thank you. Kellygirl. I have added the other outfit photos and more finds.

I like the dress best with the blazer unbuttoned. It looks nice but more business-casual with the blazer buttoned. The kimono jacket is so fun and matches that red tank perfectly too.

Love the kimono jacket. It works great with the red tank and dark jeans. Silver shoes et SL are fab.
I hear you on the dress but I want sleeves, too. This type of simple dress is so versatile. I vote try other toppers.aybe a light flowy cardi. The tailored jacket looks too strict for the eay lines of the dress. For a summery vibe with blush shoes, do you have a light - colored necklace, shell or bone, maybe.
You are queen of closet challenge !

Great kimono inspired jacket with the dark jeans. Very elegant and stylish. You have fab sense of style, Joy!

Dee, that's a good point about the outfit looking more business casual with the blazer buttoned. My thought was that it might give the suggestion of a waist.
Unfrumped, I do have a great she'll necklace. Great idea.
    Thank you, Kelly

Ooooh! Liking the black dress with the blush sandals. Now I know what to do with the sundress that I got for Antigua, that has only been worn once since I got back....I really like UF's idea to wear it with a shell necklace.

I think both outfits are great!!  I love your kimono-inspired jacket, and it does match the red tank, what a great look for the occasion.

The dress is just stunning.  I love it solo, but the jacket is very nice with it too.  The blush/nude sandals make it more summery but of course it would be great with most colours.

I hope these get repeated once your challenge is over!

The dress looks great with the sandals. I don't love the jacket with it due to the jacket shape, or maybe the length. The second outfit looks terrific!

Wow Joy.  In just a matter of a few weeks, you have become my personal style icon.  I can't tell you how much I love both of these outfits, but the dress takes my breath away.

Beautiful outfits, Joy.  That dress is so elegant, and I can see how versatile it must be.  It works perfectly with the blush blazer and shoes - I prefer the blazer unbuttoned.

The jacket is stunning, and it looks just right with the red vest.  That is definitely an option to be repeated.

That dress is lovely on you, Joy. For some reason it comes through as navy on my screen and the jacket as grey, but I'll take your word for it ;) I prefer the jacket unbuttoned.

Joy, you really know how to put an outfit together - the dress is lovely and the red jacket and tank - wow!
