Inspired by a Blogger

When I saw Inge's blogger post back in February, I planned to do a version. Here it is. What do you think? My sunglasses are not white but a light yellow-green. The fuzzy ball is not really part of the cap but a bag addition. I got this one to amuse DGS when he was younger. I also felt the outfit would look better with a belt. My boots are whiter in R/L. I'd appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

Fantastic Joy - I agree with smittie!

So cool! I like your version. I think I prefer it without the hat, though you do look cute in the hat!

  • unfrumped replied 6 years ago

Oh wow! How do you come up with these?

  • rachylou replied 6 years ago

    Fabulous!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Wow, I am amazed by the enthusiasm. Unfrumped, when I saw the outfit I knew that I had white jeans and the shirt plus pieces similar to the rest. It was a new way to wear things I have. The reverse might be fun too.. black jeans with a black and white top, black boots, and white hat and jacket.

This outfit is perfect on you. Love how you have the little touches that make it so personal.

Awesome Joy, I agree one of your best looks x

WOW, what an amazing rendition, Joy!! Love it from head to toe! Brilliant how the colour of the boots echo the belt. Sophisticated and polished with that gorgeous animal print blouse and the blazer. Crisp with the white jeans. Fun with the accessories.

    You absolutely nailed it!!

    FABULOUS.

    My word, you are adorable.

  • minimalist replied 6 years ago

    Joy, I'm smitten!
Of course, anything with white denim has me halfway there, but this rendition is particularly delightful.

  • Bonnie replied 6 years ago

You've done a wonderful job adapting the inspiration.

  • Jaime replied 6 years ago

    Excellent outfit!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Again I am astounded by your support fit this outfit. I needed to be warmer and used a black Gap trench for a topper when going out.
Thank you each for your comments and encouragement.

  • chirico (Chiara) replied 6 years ago

I really like this outfit in you. I think the fit of tour jeans is better than the inspiration...

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

    Thank you, Chiara.

  • Elizabeth P replied 6 years ago

    Nailed it!
I also prefer it without the hat. Perhaps because you are inside so it looks a bit seasonally confused?

  • Brooklyn replied 6 years ago

    Fabulous!

  • Style Fan replied 6 years ago

I like your version better than the blogger's Joy.  Fabulous.

  • Sisi replied 6 years ago

Wonderful! I remember that picture and I remember thinking that I would like to copy the outfit but was never able to do so. You did it successfully! Even better than the original.

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 6 years ago

Well done , Joy!  Love this.

  • Lisa replied 6 years ago

    Great job interpreting this look!

  • tulle replied 6 years ago

I love it. You look great, Joy.  But then, you always do.

  • kkards replied 6 years ago

    WOW! this is great!

  • Greyscale replied 6 years ago

    Well done!

Is that shirt from J Crew? I don't always love animal prints but I remember seeing that one and thinking it was so fab.

  • SarahTheWhite replied 6 years ago

Wow, you nailed it! I wouldn't change a thing. You look wonderful!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you all for your encouraging comments. I will repeat this outfit.
Greyscale, the shirt is JCrew. I found it at a consignment store. The fabric is great and looks good without ironing.

  • Gigi replied 6 years ago

    Amazing copycat! Love it.

I'm curious as to what this outfit would look like if the black and white were switched around, since the blogger has dark hair and you have light hair. So...you would wear an ivory hat, ivory blazer, etc., with dark bottoms and shoes. It would be an interesting study to see the two side-by-side.

  • Sal replied 6 years ago

I really like it too, and am also intrigued by Gigi's suggestion.  I am tempted to give it a go myself although I don't know that I quite have the right pieces.

    Fun concept:)

Love your version -- even better than the original.  You are excellent at taking inspiration and making something that looks like it was designed for you!
