High volume duster outfit

Today I tried a duster outfit with 3 high volume pieces...wide crops, peasant style top untucked and denim duster. Accessories are a vintage summer bag, Merrell athletic flats in a blue and white stripe, blue stone beads on a leather strap necklace, red and blue bead dangly earrings, and purple leather bracelet. What do you think? Suggestions for improvement?
Sorry about the poor quality photos.

I really like this! The bag is terrific and the volume on volume works!

So glad you think it works, Shevia. The bag was thrifted several years ago. It makes me smile.

I like this look. I like the way the purse picks up colors of top and bottom and mimics the stripes in shoes ( great shoes btw)
I think the duster make the perfect topper to tie it together.

Perfect! I love that whole look. Everything coordinates effortlessly.

Great score on the vintage bag, btw.

A beautiful look on you, Joy.  I love how all the colors and shapes work together and that bag is so much fun.

    Wow! What a goot combination!

Efbgen, Suzanimal, Tanya, and Krishnidoux, I was hoping the colors looked tied together. Cindy, this bag is a joy to use, light weight, holds lots, secure in that it has a fabric lining with zipper top.

Looking good Joy. Great bag BTW.

Thank you, Angie and Lynn. Wow a "Killer"! This may become a Festival outfit.

Ahaha! I was going to post 'perfect festival outfit'!

Perfect duster! Looks lightweight and comfy.

I’ll admit I thought the volume over volume would be too much on you. I was wrong. You wear it well! I love how you coordinated your colors with that great thrifted bag. Yes, I think that outfit should make an appearance at one of the festivals!

  • Joy replied 4 months ago

Thank you, Mainelady. You are convincing me that it is time to look for a better quality denim duster. This one is more like cotton woven fabric than true denim. I would like to fine one in Tencel.

    Joy, you look fab!

  • Aida replied 4 months ago

Fun! I think the denim helps add a little structure to the look even though it's a softer denim.

  • Joy replied 4 months ago

Thank you JAileen and Aida. AIDS, it is valuable to know what works with this duster. I have found two that are soft, one that is longer and one that is shorter, and I am wondering if either will work on me

Oh, I like this very much. Such an interesting, fun casual outfit! It’s perfect as it is.

  • Joy replied 4 months ago

Thank you , Katerina, "interesting, fun casual outfits" are my goal.

Well done, Joy!  I love the soft pattern mixing of the look.  At first, I was going to suggest shortening the trousers just a twinge, but I think the camera angle is making them look a bit longer than they are.  Also, while I love the bag, this looks like a farmers market/art fair/travel look --How do you manage having a bag on your forearm?  I love a crossbody for casual on-the-go looks, even though they are not always as stylish as your fab, structured bag!

  • Joy replied 4 months ago

Thank you, Beth Ann. I do fine with a bag on my forearm, although the handles on this one are large enough that I can wear it as a shoulder bag, fitting under my arm.

  • Jane replied 4 months ago

I’m late to this thread; the soft colours are very effective together, the denim sets off the pieces well. I love the bag, and especially the bamboo handle!
