Festive wear 12-4,5,6. Fair Isle?

(1-3): Continuing the festive challenge, today’s outfit may not qualify but I wanted to try my old Fair Isle-esque sweater. Does it qualify as a Fair Isle? It is Shetland wool and made in the British Isles. Shown with Paige Hoxton jeans which will be tucked into burgundy booties when going out in the snow, several necklaces incuding a big green and silver glass pendant and I may add a floral Christmas scarf for hectic pattern mixing. Your thoughts and suggestions are welcomed.
12-5: (4-6): dark green merino sweater with matching scarf, burgundy leather skirt, burgundy cardigan and twinkly star earrings, worn to teach. Burgundy ankle boots and leather shoulder bag. Suggestions welcomed.
12-4: Mistook tweedy consignment jacket with metallic silver threads and creamy lace lining over black BR tee and white Kut Catherine boyfriend jeans. I used silver accessories to pick up silver in the jacket. Worn out for a casual meal and to babysit. Suggestions and comments welcomed. Except for the last outfit, these felt appropriately festive for early December.

Beatiful outfits! I don’t have any suggestions, you have styled everything beautifully. It is so fun to see three very different looks on you, all perfect. You are very stylish.
I adore the third outfit especially, you look gorgeous in the white, cream, grey, silver palette every time!
I have a similar glass pendant btw., only mine is blue. It was a gift from my mom, I don’t actually know where it comes from. I wear it on a stiff silver ring, kind of a choker style.

Thank you, Katerina. I was just looking at your beautiful fair isle sweater outfits.
My glass pendant was actually sold as a tree ornament. It has a glass loop on top that can take a narrow chain or leather cord. I like the idea of wearing it choker style because it would keep the glass from swinging against things, stars are my favorite motif for this time of year, like the leaf motif for fall and flowers for spring, shells and sea creatures for summer.

Lovely colours in your jumper and I m getting really envious of your festive jewellery collection!

Sure, that counts as Fair Isle, sweet Joy. Unique colour combo. I can see it with wide crops and tall boots.

    KILLER white jeans look.

Thank you, Cardiff girl. I look for festive jewelry and scarves as they don't take up much room
Thank you, Angie! A Killer on the white jeans look. I am humbled. It was you who convinced me to wear white jeans year round. I can wear this sweater with wide black or denim blue crops and tall black or brown boots.

You people look so good in the Fair Isle :)

    They all work great!

Hard to pick a favorite here - they are all wonderful. But the fair isle colors and the way you make the layered necklace look effortless and not busy wins my top pick in the end. i love that you are using an ornament. It is the kind of thing I should do more since I have a very well-stocked craft room.

Such great festive outfits, Joy! I especially love #1 with your super cool looking take on the Fair Isle trend. They are all fabulous, though. I love the rich colors of the second outfit, and the sumptuous fabrics, including the leather skirt! And the third one is so fun with the lightened palette and sparkles.

Thank you all for looking and commenting. I hope to find a puffer vest to wear with this sweater. A navy could be worn with both the Fair Isle sweater and the Scandinavian reindeer sweater.

These are all lovely but I have to stick up for the third outfit that you felt wasn’t festive enough— to me, the metallics make it so.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Thank you Sarah, that is a good point. There are more metallics ahead this month.

I just love that big star necklace, it adds a lot of fun to the outfit

  • rachylou replied 5 years ago

That sweater is super Now in my book. Really good looks.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

    Thank you, Jessiekams and Rachylou,

Joy, I think these are all very nice. I especially like the textures of the jacket in the third one.

I had a sweater very similar to your first one. It was from Lands End. I loved it!

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Thank you, JAileen. The textures of the jacket caused me to buy it. As I had really wanted the jacket with shaggy textures from NAS this year but missed out.
I may wear that Shetland wool fair isle sweater again later today to a parade of lights. It will be after dark and cold and I am feeling chilled today.

You in that back and white jacket is classic joy! So pretty and effortless.

You wear patterned sweaters with the best of them.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Thank you for the kind words, bj1111.

  • Mirjana replied 5 years ago

Lovely, but I like the best outfit with white jeans , as I am fan of white jeans and the jacket is fantastic, really love so much.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Thank you, Mirjana. I can see you wearing the white jeans and this jacket.

  • Mirjana replied 5 years ago

Yes, Joy you are right I would wear that with pleasure.
