Fall Prompt outfits: 3 more

Here are the latest 3 challenge outfits.
1/2: worn Sunday to church and out to brunch. An Express thrifted dress with consignment jacket and sale white booties. The challenge was dress with booties. Is the jacket best fastened or open? Is this dress too short for me?
#3-5: This outfit shows the challenge of pairing a floral with plaid. The patterns are shown best in #5. It also shows a top I have not worn before and booties with jeans I bought the top because the colors worked with my fall/ winter wardrobe. It happens to be another gathered sleeve top with a small neckline bow. It was not as full as I thought or it would also be full top over slim pants.
6-8: the challenge here was warm top, cool bottom and 2 necklaces and necklace with a scarf. EF black Ponte pants with Plieone tie front top and thrifted yellow (Talbots) loafers, thrifted aqua bag. Scarf is from the early 80’s or before and is a light mustard yellow background.
Are any of these experiments worth repeating? Suggestions?

I like it opened. Dress isn’t too short.
I think your floral/plaid mix is great. And you did a great job layering your necklaces, too.

My favorites are #1 and #7. I think #1 would also look great with sneakers. And no, I don't think the dress is too short for you. You wear it well!

I love all the looks. I particularly like #6. The blouse is so interesting with the knot in the front and the necklace goes great with it.

I like both #1 and #2. I don't think the dress is too short on you. The jacket looks great fastened or open. If I have to pick a favorite, I would say fastened.

I could not even tell they were plaid pants in #3 and #4 (vigorously scrubbing my laptop screen...). The patterns in the blouse and pants are both subtle so the combination goes well and does not look too busy.

Opaline, Jenn and Becky, thank you so much for your comments. The plaid pants do not show the plaid well in photos, even if I try to lighten the photo.. I think these jeans are a mid-rise on me but I wish they were not as fitted. This may be their last season. I am constantly pulling them up as they slip down.

#1 is great and I like the top open. #2 has great pattern matching. #3 what a beautiful print and the necklaces are perfect with it. Love all of the outfits and yes to repeating.

The dress is cute! Not too short and I like with the jacket open. I like 7 especially, I like the scarf and how you have it around your neck. The floral and plaid looks good - the colours tone well and I like the mix of patterns.

Wow Joy how beautiful outfits!!! I like all but # 1 is my favorite. The dress is perfect, length is very good to my mind, and I like it open . I also love blouse in #6 , very nice on you.

The floral and plaid feels very modern and stylish to me. It may be the ‘puff’ sleeves have a lot to do with it. The others are classic stylish... I probably like the dress with the loafers more than the booties, because it’s more classic.

I like the jacket opened - it's a great outfit! Your pattern mix and thrifted aqua bag are fantastic!  Your warm top/cool bottom combo is the perfect transitional outfit - one foot still in warm weather! Love it! Yes to repeating all of them.

Your Church outfit is stunning on you. I love seeing people dress up for Church, it makes it seem more special.

You have a gift for pairing different items, I really love the plaid and floral pattern mix. All these outfits are lovely, the sunny yellow top is a great piece and so pretty on you.

Thank you all for your helpful comments. Now to see what I still have not worn. I may need to add or change out some prompts as the weather is not cooling off as much as I had thought it would. Today’s outfit needs to allow for sitting on the floor with little kids, so not a skirt.

  • JAileen replied 4 years ago

You look great in all of these. I especially like the jacket in #1.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

The shorter bob is sooooo fun, sweet Joy

#2 with the loafers is fab!

CUTE puffy sleeved blouse, and great pattern mix. Try cuffing those skinnies above the boots. Fab bag with the boots. Great match.

    #7 - KILLER

  • Jaime replied 4 years ago

I like the dress with jacket open (not too short), love the entire look in #4 (great bag!), and #7 is smashing!

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

Thank you for sorting me out on these looks, Shevia. The bag in #4 is hand made out of buffalo ( bison) leather that earlier I was searching for footwear to go with it. I should have shopped my closet first as these deep brown Born booties seem to work.
Angie, you made my day...a KILLER for #7! I am so grateful that you like the bob. It looks good from the back too .
JAileen, I will wear the jacket open. It is a great weight for fall weather.

I agree #1 and #7 are great,a tailored jacket is obviously a good look for you.

  • Brooklyn replied 4 years ago

The dress is not too short. I have found that I’ve gotten so used to seeing and wearing midi dresses that a knee length skirt feels short to me. But of course it’s not! Maybe the same thing is happening to you? Personally I’d hang on to it because it’s a great dress and suits you well. I like no 1 and 2 the best, with no 7 a close second.

  • SarahD8 replied 4 years ago

I like the dress either way. Not too short! It's great with the booties, and I also like the suggestion of sneakers.

I loooooove the floral-plaid combo! Right up my alley. Inspirational. :-)

    You are killing this challenge!!!

Cardiff girl, I prefer jackets to cardigans in general. They have more structure usually.
Brooklyn, I think that is happening to me. I will wear frocks slightly shorter in warm weather. I really like this dress. It is an easy pull-over the head and the fabric is heavy enough not a cling.
Sarah, I like the idea of wearing sneakers but the ties are giving me pause. Too much stooping to tie and untie.
