Dress version of the modern twinset

Inspired by Angie’s posts on modern twin sets and dresses, this is what I wore to a luncheon on a chilly day. I accidentally found an EF sleeved dress and thrifted scarf the same color. My happiness factor was high even though DH said I looked like a Buddist monk. The bright color warmed me on a rainy day with lots of hail.

Beautiful colour! Looks nice with the gold shoes too.

Bold color and quiet lines looks very settled on you, like it belongs on you. I’m impressed that this impromptu experiment seems so polished. Great inspiration for us all to wear what we love and not water down the style to someone else’s idea of conventional outfit creation.

OMG, love it. Ain’t nothing wrong with looking like a monk (something my hubs says about my “floaty” outfits too)

  • bridgie replied 5 years ago

Joy, that is a marvelous outfit on you.  I love it!

    Pure glam!

Joy, this is BEAUTIFUL. Polished, elegant and interesting. The golden shoes and bag are perfect with the dress and make the orange sing. Your style is amazing.

Thank you, dear Fabbers, for your kind words . Jussie, I was at a loss as to what shoes to wear with this dress. Metallics to the rescue.
3style, Jessikams, and bridgie, thank you for reassuring me that this outfit is ok. I was excited that the scarf was such a great match, but wondered if it was too much.
Brooklyn, your approval means a lot.

This color looks amazing on you. And I love gold accents. You make me reconsider wearing gold again.

Lovely color, beautiful outfits and you made me smile with your husband comment.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

What a boost reading all your encouraging comments first thing this morning. Thank you. This dress and color were wild cards that I have been enjoying this cool spring before it turns hot. Does the dress look too voluminous? Too short?

  • Katerina replied 5 years ago

No and no. That's it. :-)

  • JAileen replied 5 years ago

Joy, you look fab. And not like a Buddhist monk. What a lucky find!

Beautiful color on you, Joy, and a lovely version of the twinset. I love the easy elegance of the dress.

  • Dana replied 5 years ago

Fab color! And happy day the rain is gone. The Denver forecast yesterday was for rain this afternoon, but it has changed. You definitely brought the sunshine with that amazing dress!

  • AJ replied 5 years ago

The scarf and dress are a perfect match!  The gold accessories are FAB with it.

I tend to wear dark neutrals on rainy days.  Seconding Dana, you brought the sunshine with that outfit!

  • Sal replied 5 years ago

I love this - the length is perfect for the volume. And the good shoes were a great choice.

  • Mainelady replied 5 years ago

Stunning color! Double it up and wow!

  • replied 5 years ago

Well, personally, I would take being told I look like a Buddhist monk as a compliment.  They were their bright robes with such aplomb!
This really is a lovely look on you, Joy.  It always amazes me how many colors look good on you!  I think the matching scarf thing is inspired!  Love seeing that look in action.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

I am excited with the enthusiasm for this bright outfit.
Ryce, I agree that looking like a Buddist monk is a compliment. We see many in this area. I just saw a whole van load enjoying the scenery at Rocky Mountain National Park this week. The orange robes looked elegant against the trees and snow.

Oh, fab. You have such a knack.
DH’s comment makes me snort; he has humor and a point , up to a point, so it’s all good.

  • Windchime replied 5 years ago

Very elegant and lovely! Your gold shoes and bag would prevent you from blending in inside a Buddhist monastery. ;)

  • Aquamarine replied 5 years ago

    Super color on you!

  • Jaime replied 5 years ago

Great look! Nothing wrong with monks ;) !

  • Dianna replied 5 years ago

Joy, this is great, and the color is wonderful on you.  Loved it.

  • Vildy replied 5 years ago

My first take wasn't Buddhist monk at all but California Girl, Malibu branch. I love it!
    (grew up there)

  • Bijou replied 5 years ago

Joy your husband's comment made me laugh out loud, because he sounds EXACTLY like my husband. Of course you look absolutely stunning in this ensemble and I am so glad that you enjoyed wearing it.

  • Angie replied 5 years ago

    KILLER

    I could eat you up.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Vildy I'll take California girl! I came of age with The Beach Boys songs.
Angie, I am grateful and humbled by your Killer. No, Shevia, nothing wrong with monks. Aquamarine and Dianna, I am so happy that you like this color on me. It was a wild card.
