Wow! I saw your snow picture! With snow on the ground, would you really wear little flats? I'd be wearing booties. We're supposed to get into the 80s tomorrow, and we're planting our tomatoes.

texstyle replied 7 years ago
Looks beautiful on you Joy - really nice rendition. We're harvesting our first cherry tomatoes already here in Texas!

I have the blush bag in a green ombre color. I love it, but it is quite large. It's not very heavy on its own, though. Hope that info helps you decide!

Tisa replied 7 years ago
Very nice! I like both bags, and would choose between them according to occasion.

Joy replied 7 years ago
JAileen, none of my booties would be right for ice and snow. Something I need. We had several days in the 80's and I put them all in boxes on the top shelf of the closet. My closet needs a dedicated step ladder! I will wear serious sneakers out or pull out the ladder and get some brown boots down. There is 3 inches of ice and hail under that snow.
Texstyle, we can't put plants like tomatoes in the ground until June, according to gardening neighbors. Even without the snow, the temperatures regularly dip below freezing in May. Highs in the high 80's one day, 30's and 40's the next.
Christina, you are right. The bag is very light for its size. I got it for summer when I need to carry lots of extra stuff like a water bottle, bag to keep meds cool and a cover-up for air conditioning. This will be perfect.

Thank you, Tisa. Very wise. Since we will have a toddler in potty training in tow, I will need the big one!

Jenn replied 7 years ago
Haha, Joy. I'm wearing a wool sweater. Now you understand why I keep my entire wardrobe out year-round!
You look wonderfully springy, given the temperature.

Dianna replied 7 years ago
You look great, as always, Joy! I prefer the blush tote, but either one would work really well.
-
Joy replied 7 years ago
Jenn, that is very wise to keep everything out all year. I need to stop shopping and wear out what I have plus do some heavy editing.
Thank you, Diana. I think it will be useful today although I feel that it looks so big in the photos, like a little girl with bar mother's bag.

You look great as always, Joy. When I saw post today I was absolutely sure that these are your colors. I can't imagine snow, real snow like in the winter. I prefer a huge blush tote, it suit me better with that casual outfit. Hope you will have nicer weather.

Eliza replied 7 years ago
I like what you have done with pastels here, Joy. Very sophisticated and fun to wear when it is cold out. We don't see enough variation in color here when it is snowy weather; pastels are especially scarce. Love the blush tote.

Joy, you look amazing in these pastels, and what a great idea to have them, considering your weather. BRRRRRR!!!!!

cobaltblue replied 7 years ago
Beautiful, Joy. When I saw Angie's post this morning, I was hoping to see some renditions from your closet!
-
Joy replied 7 years ago
Thank you for your encouragement, Mirjana, Eliza, Suz and Cobaltblue. I am so glad to have these colors to wear this time of year when I am so tired of dark neutrals. I will be able to wear these colors for a couple more days and hope this is the last snow of the season here although there will probably be more at higher elevations, so need to remember to keep some warm things available for going up into the mountains.

I really like the muddier blush on you - it's another sophisticated version of this look. And what is up with snow?? Even here in crazy Canada, we are free and clear of snow - although now I have probably jinxed things by saying that....
-
Joy replied 7 years ago
I like this dark blush too. I dislike a blush that looks, from a distance, like I'm not wearing pants.. DH jinxed us for snow by cleaning and polishing the garage floor (checkerboard of black and white tiles) earlier this week. It started with a hail storm just when he'd finished.

Angie replied 7 years ago
You are ADORABLE. I prefer the clutch, and onto finding white snow boots.
-
JAileen replied 7 years ago
Joy, I was thinking about your wanting white boots, and I found these casual boots. They are pale grey, waterproof, and have some traction, but would not be suitable if you have three inches of ice. I doubt anything would be suitable then. I have several pairs of these Timberland boots and they're great unless you're gong to be standing in snow for prolonged periods of time in very cold temps, such as birding.

I love how the lighter colors make it seem more spring than winter, even though it is snowing. We are having swimming weather here, but I'm wondering if it will stay. I did pack up some things and then we had a colder snap.

Joy replied 7 years ago
Thank you. Angie. I should have gotten those white Converse high tops with the fleece lining, but JAlieen may have found what I need. JAileen, would you suggest a half size up as for athletic shoes or regular shoe size? I have not had Timberlands.
Barbara Diana, very wise to be ready for anything with the weather. Today we have sun and 50's.
-
JAileen replied 7 years ago
I wear my normal size with the Timberlands, and wear REI hiking socks.

Lovely outfit Joy. Those colours are so you. It is warm here today but it is going to turn cold again. White snowboots would work nicely.
-
Jaime replied 7 years ago
Beautiful muted jeans and the entire outfit looks terrific!

Lisa replied 7 years ago
Lovely spring look, for cold weather. I like both bags, but the clutch is my favorite because I adore bags with hardware on them.
-
Brooklyn replied 7 years ago
These colours are made for you Joy. And I have a similar coat to yours :) I prefer the clutch, but the tote works too if you need the extra space.
-
Joy replied 7 years ago
JAileen, thank you for coming back to answer my question.
Lisa and Brooklyn, thank you for your help on the bag question.
Style Fan, white snow boots sound brilliant now and I wonder why I didn't look for them when I needed snow boots last winter.
Thank you, Shevia. I wish I had even a fraction of your style!

I like the pale blue and blush layered together. It's a great look on you. The weather has been fickle here as well, and we had snow a couple weeks ago. It had been warm enough the week before that we opened up our pool.

Love the scarf, particularly joy -- such a hopeful hint of spring in the snow. I think pale grey shoes would also work with this combination!
