Black Dress Challenge: summer dress up: ETA photo

Back to the black dress challenge.  The first are thee versions with a black lace topper over the black dress.  These could also be ok for a funeral since some of the arm is covered by the topper.
The last photo shows the dress with a silk jacket.  This was worn for an anniversary dinner.

What would you change? Too much black?

I love the way you’re glam-ing it up this week! :)

Looks great - love the pearls with white pretty flats and metallic ones - so special! The patterned jacket is nice as well - very put together look!

Happy Anniversary! You look lovely. Your outfit has inspired me to find a black dress to wear with my lace topper.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Rachylou.  It has been fun finding ways to wear a plain black dress.  Today it is casual with a faded blue denim vest and espadrilles, wet hair and leather “jewelry”.

Thank you, slim cat, those flats are very comfortable.  I have worn that patterned jacket mostly with dark blue jeans and an aqua silk tank and red and blue sequined flats.
Thank you, Bonnie.  It was our 51st anniversary.  I am humbled to have inspired such a stylish lady.  I thought the lace was a way to add texture to a black summer outfit. I miss my black patent heels.

N, I did not see your post before.  Thank you for your kind words.  I have been working to add more white to my wardrobe.

The pearl bracelets and white shoes make it for me. Love that version!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you ,Shevia.  I hoped that the white pearls and shoes would add a more summery touch to the black.

Love the version with white shoes, white pearl bracelets and white/light glasses. So beautiful and elegant with your colouring, and also the most summery look.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, The Cat.  I tried to make a summery look.  I’m happy that you see that.

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

So elegant - all are fab, but my favourite is with the white accessories. Joy you are always a great source of style inspiration.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Bijou.  I plan to add to this thread as I plan to wear the Planck dress to an outdoor luncheon tomorrow.  You would look fabulous in a black dress with white accessories.

  • Mirjana replied 3 years ago

I'm with Bijou, love the best with the white accessories. The black dress is always good choice.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

    Black dress not Planck dress.

  • Jessikams replied 3 years ago

You look great in these dresses. Your light hair and the light pearls act as accents. And the delicacy of lace or mesh toppers works too.
