Nice Joy! You and I picked the same challenge. Mine will start once I'm back to work though. It's nice to pull out some favorite dresses to wear, and yours look great. I love how you look in the red orange, and the jacket over the blue looks great! Nicely styled here! Looking forward to some more SYC dresses from you!

They all look so good! I especially love the silver jacket, but they all look nice. #10 looks like it is just at the top of your knee? Should be perfectly fine to wear out (and I love the cheeriness of that one).

Staysfit, I'm looking forward to your challenge post. That "firefly" red-orange is my best red.
Word Lily, yes, that last dress comes to the top of my knee, shorter than I'd like.
Thank you

These are fantastic! You wear dresses so well. I'm crazy about the dress in #10. It's definitely not too short for bare legs! I'm also crushing on the JJill dress in all the iterations shown.

OMG. I can't even pick a favorite. You are really rocking this challenge and it is only the 3rd of August!!!!!!

GREAT, Joy. You are already rocking the August challenge.
That first tomato EF dress is killer. What a glorious colour. And the reversible sack dress is not too short at all. What a striking pattern.
My favourite version of the black dress is #5, and good job getting that dotty orphan in too. Why do you think it's orphaned? Too formal?
-
Joy replied 8 years ago
Angie, the dotty dress hits a note between more dressy and casual that is sometimes just right. I think it is an orphan because it is more fitted and because I can no longer do the long back zipper without help. ( Keep doing your yoga).

HAHAHA. Round up hubs to help out.

YLF. I especially love the color and shape of the red, but they all look dreamy for these steamy summer days.
-
Joy replied 8 years ago
Yup, that's what I have to do. He's amused when I can't undress myself.
Thank you, Meredith. I'm glad that red dress is getting approval.

Gorgeous! Fabulous shopping your closet. That EF dress is simply smashing on you!! I love the color and the fun arty shape.

Joy, you look absolutely stunning in all of these. In fact, you could be an advertisement for why dresses are the best summer wear ever! Simple, clean, cool-looking, no fuss. I adore the reversible sack dress and do not think it is too short on you at all. The others are killer, too. So funny about the dots dress -- I had a cotton sheath that had that difficulty, too -- I could still manage it, but with much wrangling and contortion. It was also a bit too short for my taste so I finally let it go. But this one is perfect on you. As you say -- hits the right note between dressy and casual for certain occasions.

You look smashing, Joy! I love them all! The first red is a beautiful colour on you and I love the blue dress too. The sack dress has a gorgeous print; you should wear it out without a second thought....it's gorgeous and just the right length on you.

Thank you, Thistle. That red dress would be perfect for those who go dancing. It is fun to wear and doesn't feel like it has too much volume for me.
Suz, I have to confess that the heat has lots to do with my simple dress style. I should have shown my white denim jean jacket with the dotty dress, but it was too hot. I have three sheath dresses that are a great fit but my usual contortions are not enough to completely zip or unzip them these days. I'll be featuring the other side of the reversible dress later in the week.

Thank you , Maneera. the reversible dress makes me happy so I'm glad that it doesn't look shockingly short on me.

The EF dress is just perfect on you. I like it and the similar black one with no topper at all.
-

These are all perfect on you, Joy. Each has its own easy, breezy, summery look. And all are an ideal length for your lovely legs. Did you get them hemmed to achieve that or are they all just the perfect length to start with? So delightful!
-
Joy replied 8 years ago
You are very kind, Aliona. The only dress here that had anything done to the hem is the dotted dress. The Nordstom alterations department let the hem out as far as possible for me and made it much more wearable.

Landing here after I saw Part 2 and I am so glad I saw the earlier thread. You have amazing collection of dresses which are perfect for you. I love red and black ones, you wear the patterned one equally well, but Dotty steels the show for me. It looks so fun and versatile.

Joy replied 8 years ago
Thank you, Ornella, for stopping by. You have pretty much seen my entire dress collection of dresses as almost all except for a handful of sweater dresses are sleeveless. I'm glad that Li'l Orphan Dotty got a shout out.
