Super Halftime Oranges look! I also like your interpretation of Cass.

Thank you, Becky. Both outfits seemed better in my mind than they turned out.

Well, I am thrilled to see the oranges! I thought the painting was gorgeous, but there was just no way I could personally pull it off.
You did it beautifully. I especially love number 2 with the white jean jacket.

Thank you, Sterling. I have lots of orange and may try a casual version for that picture. The top in the Cass outfit looks orange in my photo but is really a subdued watermelon red.

Well done on both!! I especially like the Oranges look - really fun with the textures and colours together. The circle shapes look great.
I like the Cass outfits too - you picked out quite different colours to me which is really fun.
Thank you for playing along!!

Thank you, Diana, Like the Season, and Sal. Sal thank you for starting this challenge. I would have to make completely different outfits if it were winter. I hope Natalie does the oranges with her orange bag and other Kate Spade items.

These are truly inspired! The second I feel is particularly harmonious.

Thank you, Rachylou, Thistle and Barbara Diane. These challenges have me putting colors together in ways I'd never considered. I really enjoyed the second painting and wearing tan and light grey together. I can do a winter version more easily.

Joy, you have created stunning beautiful outfits inspired by both paintings. I can’t pick a favourite, they are both so gorgeous.
I am intrigued by the necklace in the second outfit - so interesting. What is it made of? Or is it two necklaces piled?
Anyway, you took the inspiration from the paintings and created two outfits which are so your style and you look fantastic. I would never tell that the colour combinations are unusual for you, they suit you so well.

I think the Art Challenge is fascinating and am enjoying following along with all the posts. I think your outfits are wonderful! I am liking the brighter colors on you. I think art is a great way for us to consider colors and how to put them together.

Katerina, you are seeing two necklaces piled. Both are thrifted One is a chain with large links and oval pieces of mother-of-pearl shell. The other is a double necklace that looks like shells. They were worn for a touch of island. Probably better for the Gauguin. Mirjana, Shevia and Suz, I am basking in the praise of such stylish ladies!

Mainelady, I just saw your post. Thank you for your kind, astute comments. The art challenges are great ways to inspire playing with color and shape.

I didn’t realize the actual name of the oranges, but it looked like a snack for my son’s soccer team when he was little. Your outfit is just perfect. You look fab!

Joy replied 6 years ago
Thank you, JAileen. I had forgotten about those halftime oranges for kid's soccer.

Ooh lovely interpretations, Joy! I like the idea of taking a single element as the focus for an outfit as you did in the second, clever. The first is appropriately whimsical and serious all together, just as the painting is. Really nicely done ^^

You look wonderful Joy. It’s a shame Angie isn’t here to enjoy your use of orange and white. I particularly like the version with the denim jacket. Both great interpretations.
