Another Wide Crop outfit: #4. Black

I tried a version of Angie’s wide crop black outfit from the blog post. Black EF wide crops, Vibram sole sneakers instead of ankle boots with scrunched Smart Wool socks. Kooba black shoulder bag. Long black cashmere cardi over semisheer black pullover over white tank. This is s bit out of my comfort zone but worked for a cold day that required walking on snow and ice.

I love it, Joy. The black-out looks great with your white hair! Do you ever carry a white bag? That would really pop with this.

I like the all black outfit a lot. The cropped pants look great with these fab sneakers and the bag is super. It is a bit difficult to see the textures of the cardi and the pullover in the picture, it’s a pity that it is so difficult to photograph black outfits. I can imagine from your description that it must look very interesting. I really like the silhouette and your accessories work perfectly with the outfit. You look fabulous and cool.

Thank you, Jenn and Katerina. Jenn, that is a good idea to carry a white bag. I often use a black and mostly white bag but do have a newer white satchel. I will try to at least add the black and white one to Finds
Katerina, I am sorry that the photos are so dark. The black over white was motivated by The blog photo with #4. There seemed to be very tiny white dots on the black top. The bits of white showing through the black semi- sheer top seemed to give a similar effect.

A bit hard to see as always with black, but when I see I like!

    Thank you. Shevia.

You look great in this. The all black and boots are a bit harder edged, but in a very good way! I like Katerina s suggestion of a white bag. That B&w one looks like a winner.

I think this looks really good on you.
I also really like your w&b satchel for a different vibe with it.

  • Sal replied 5 years ago

I like it too! The silhouette is great in the black and your hair looks fab against the dark.

  • Inge replied 5 years ago

I love this silhouette on you, Joy, and agree that the black works great with your fab hair. Also love the idea of using your black-and-white satchel to add a bit of graphic contrast.

Good outfit lab! I think trying the black& white bag would be super also.
I have recently added some wide crops that I want to wear across seasons, and this is helping with ideas for dress up/ down.

You are a stylish snow walker, Joy.

I like the suggestion of a white bag. Nice with your hair and eyewear.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

    Many thanks.
Angie, we woke up to a significant snowfall that is still coming down. I will repeat at least some version of this outfit with the shoes today.
Unfrumped, these wide-legged crops work very well for all seasons. I was struggling with cold winter until Angie posted these ideas.
Inge, Sal, Opaline and Karen, thank you for affirmation

I like how determined you are to try new looks!
    Very stylish :)

This is a great look.  I think even a metallic bag would work well.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

J Aileen, thank you for the confidence boost.
Taylor, I love trying new ways to wear what I have. I am seriously thinking of buying white Doc Martins though.
Kim, I wear out metallic bags. Good idea to add some shine.

  • Angie replied 5 years ago

AND, I echo what Taylor said. You are fabulous, Joy. And inspire me.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

You are all so kind. If i inspire anyone at over 70, it makes my day! If I go out in this weather ( we just saw the Amazon delivery truck get stuck on our street), I will wear my closest boot to a combat boot with rolled jeans and black top and topper, although the topper will not be a cocoon coat. I have not found one yet but could use it today. The black puffer will be my stand in.

You look amazing I love this colour and you had carried this amazingly I loved your style and dressing sense. You can also try lather wallets with this outfit It will add charm to your outfit.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Thank you, kalle. I don't know lather wallets. Do you mean leather? I need a large bag to carry all the stuff I need while out for awhile..medical stuff and bags always when shopping takes up the most room. A wallet only would be way too small for my needs. I do sometimes add a small shoulder bag or waist bag for my phone and keys in addition to my regular bag

  • Jane replied 5 years ago

I like the cropped trouserlook. Modern, fresh and practical I should think for walking in that weather.
