Another oldie floral cardigan, white jeans

Lots of oldies here. Cardigan is the oldest. Originally thrifted. Kept because the lively rose print makes me happy, has blush in the print, fun for pattern mixing with black and white gingham or stripe tops. It has some metalc silver threads and silver rhinestone buttons.
Problems: not my best red, too bluish. I keep a bit of this darker red but am thinking of getting rid of it.
The Kut Diana Skinny jeans. Old but in great condition. Kept because I love white jeans and need several pairs to prevent laundry bottlenecks. Problem; is the rise too low? Tighter on me than they once were ( thanks insulin) so some muffin top.
Pointy silver flat loafers. Very comfortable and in great condition, but do they look dated?
Top is Target but I have the same color 3/4 sleeve EF cotton tee. Belt is Fossil and a favorite.
I welcome your thoughts and ideas.

Do not get rid of that cardigan, it is gorgeous .loafers are great too ,metallic and pointy very on trend at the moment, keep them as well.I always find it hard to advise people on jeans because comfort is a big factor and that just doesn’t photograph well!I m going to leave it to others to advise on the jeans ,I ve been bossy enough already.

It's a fun combo. Keep! You look fab!

Joy, you've got a winning formula! The cardi and shoes both look great to me, and not dated at all to my eye. The rise on the jeans is perhaps a little lower than is current - but to me, that's a personal preference issue and a comfort issue. Do you wear tops tucked usually? That also makes a difference.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you, Cardiff girl, the cat, and torontogirl for your help. I seldom do a full tuck of tops anymore, but often use a semi-tuck with high contrast top and bottom, which seems to help my proportions.

Floral cardi is beautiful , also sliver loafers, surely keep them. Yes, I agree with Torontogirl about jeans but if you feel comfortable in them it is good.

I LOVE THE COLOUR PALETTE WITH YOUR HAIR, JOY. It's utterly delicious. One of your best.

Fab jeans, shoes and belt. I worry that the fit of the top and cardi are a little small. What do you think?

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Angie, I agree that the top and cardi are too small. I was planning to wear the EF tee over the top shown but decided it might be too warm. The cardi needs to be worn open to not look very tight. It is probably time to let it go.
The jeans are comfortable most of the time. Today they ended up over the spot were I had done an injection. That was painful but it went away later.
I will try the cardi over different tops to see if the look is any better.

I can see why you have loved this cardigan - it looks wonderful on you.

I also like the shoes a lot - they look very modern to me.

(((HUGS))), Joy. Much love to you.

Oh Joy, I love your sweater! It makes me smile, so I can imagine how much you must enjoy wearing it. Love it paired with the white jeans!

  • krishnidoux replied 6 years ago

First off, you have a GREAT figure!
I will go to the heart of the matter: I think the jeans are a little low.
I LOVE the tops' hue and print. To me, they only look smaller given the jean's low rise, but I think they would look fine under a higher waist and over a roomier bottom.
Shoes are cute and don't look dated at all.

I love your shoes. Every time I see them, I want them!

I find that trim cardis often work over dresses, that might be worth trying if the cardi still has a high happiness factor for you. I agree with Angie that the color palette is great!

The jeans look good to me but I am Princess Low Rise, lol. Sorry about the injection discomfort. :-(

    Thank you, dear Fabbers!

Angie, thank you for answering my question on today's blog too.  I was planning to put my money toward yellow or aqua items for spring/summer, but should probably stock up on dove and/or tomato red while they are around.

Sal and Mainlady, I love your enthusiasm for the cardigan.

Krishnidoux, your words encourage me.  I will try with higher rise jeans.  My highest are wide flares.

JAileen, these shoes make me happy although at first their shininess was out of my comfort zone.

Sarah, that is a great idea to try the cardi with a dress.  I will do that.

  • Katerina replied 6 years ago

The colours and the patterns of the cardi are so beatiful on you. My thoughts were what Krish says, try with a higher rise bottoms.
    The shoes are great!

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

Good idea, Joy. Lets hope we can find our aqua items. I bought more citron.
