More prompt challenge outfits

I still have some prompts that I have not used and am wearing some extra things for the first time, so a new prompt.
The first outfit features my challenge to wear mismatched earrings and a never yet worn top (blue denim) plus using a button down shirt ( the new top) to build an outfit.
#2-mismatched orange earrings from the Denver Botanical Gardens gift shop.
#1 and #3 - outfit as a whole. Silver ECCO sneakers and KS silver bag
Worn to teach a religion class, so Our Lady of Guadalupe socks (#4) from convenience store in Japan

Outfit 2: the prompts were to wear a bottom for the first time ( EF navy window pane check wide legs) and a pattern mix with plaid and floral (photo#5)( pants and scarf). I also included a prompt for wide legs with fitted top ( 7/8).

Outfit 3: the prompt was to wear a skirt with booties and a new prompt, to wear these new booties and a dress/ skirt for church. This outfit also went to a play “ Dear Sugar” with the unlikely format of letters from an advice column. It was a success and difficult real life themes like divorce and death of a child and much more.
Photos 10/11 are the outfit ( EF pullover and skirt), poncho that was a gift, and the new booties (#12). I was comfortable and wore micro mini nude fishnets on my legs. The black EF skirt was consignment but is a heavy knit tube skirt that does not cling. I wore a small silk scarf for more texture.
The booties were comfortable. I like the pale snake texture with the poncho, especially.

Outfit 4: I think this is blah and a fail. The prompt was to wear grey and orange together. (#13). I added an olive jacket (#14) and then my museum scarf (#15) in an effort to make the outfit more me.

I welcome your comments and ideas for change and/or improvement. Thank you for looking.

Fall Prompt outfits: 3 more

Here are the latest 3 challenge outfits.
1/2: worn Sunday to church and out to brunch. An Express thrifted dress with consignment jacket and sale white booties. The challenge was dress with booties. Is the jacket best fastened or open? Is this dress too short for me?
#3-5: This outfit shows the challenge of pairing a floral with plaid. The patterns are shown best in #5. It also shows a top I have not worn before and booties with jeans I bought the top because the colors worked with my fall/ winter wardrobe. It happens to be another gathered sleeve top with a small neckline bow. It was not as full as I thought or it would also be full top over slim pants.
6-8: the challenge here was warm top, cool bottom and 2 necklaces and necklace with a scarf. EF black Ponte pants with Plieone tie front top and thrifted yellow (Talbots) loafers, thrifted aqua bag. Scarf is from the early 80’s or before and is a light mustard yellow background.
Are any of these experiments worth repeating? Suggestions?

My blouse with gathers from an early NAS

The first NAS I participated in I got this blouse which is still in my closet. It is a good example of the type Angie describes with gathers near the neck.
It has sleeves that fall just over the elbow and the sleeve is gathered at that point. I have not worn this blouse much because it is for cool weather. It is polyester which is warm on me and sheer enough to need an under layer which adds more insulation. I usually wear it over a cami or tank but have worn it over black silk or heattec long underwear tops in mid winter and sprayed warm.
This style works well under jackets or cardigans. It is still in my closet because I like the colors and pattern and how it works in fall weather.
Is the pussy bow looking too dated?
Today I am wearing it with black Paige Hoxton jeans from last year’s NAS and EF espadrilles. I later put a rust long cardi on top. Under it I am wearing a cotton black tank, my bag was the light tan in the blouse in an ostrich skin texture.

Fall Prompt Outfit Challenge: first 3. ETA 2 outfits

Here are my first three outfits for the challenge. The first (photos 1-3) are my prompt #23 ( building an outfit around a button down shirt) and #1 ( booties with jeans also inspired by Angie’s hot and cold fall outfit ensemble with cognac bag, leather jacket and booties. I had thought it worked with these said to be very high-rise jeans. They seemed high but, looking at the photos, I think not on me.
Outfit 2 ( photo 4) represents prompt #2 (skirt or dress with booties and #9 ( orange and grey). The booties and cardigan are both grey, as is the bag, but all different shades of grey.
The third outfit (photo 5) was much admired. It was put together for my prompt # 5 ( aqua and rust.) I am also wearing layered necklaces #13. The clothes are all over the place from thrifted buys to expensive ones mixed in the same outfit.
I appreciate all feed back. Anything worth repeating? Shall I get rid of anything?
Scroll down for a description of the 2 new outfit. The photos do not show the rust color or the plaid pants very well.

An Earthtone Summer Casual (and dress added)

Following Angie’s ensemble idea today, I wore this casual summer earth tone outfit. The jeans are Universal Thread from Target, the light blue shell is EF silk, the topper is a silk Citron of Santa Monica from eBay, a couple of years old. Gold loafers ( Sperry Topsider) and tiger bum bag worn as a cross body from Target. Belt is also Universal Thread from Target, earrings orange glass from the Denver Botanical Gardens. Does the shirt look ok as a jacket or too messy? I added a long thrifted necklace of multicolor glass fruit shapes in oranges, dark and tomato red and light turquoise.
I liked the earthy color of the jeans ( sort of al light rust). The waist is mid rise on me, but supposed to be high rise. Do the jeans look ok for a season or should they go ASAP?
ETA an earthy dress ( EF rust) plus EF beige linen open long cardi and a column of mustard plus dark denim and navy, also floral scarf topper.

Denim Joggers a la#2

When I saw Outfit #2 in Angie’s blog ensemble post, I knew I had the pieces.
Tee is an old cheapie from last fall when I was looking for olive. This one is shot with gold metallic threads. Sneakers are old AG’s, bum bag is Aimee Kestenberg from Nordstrom Rack. It is navy leather. Bracelet is new from a local consignment store. I think it looks like black rock but is probably wood. Black duster is a black EF heavy linen dress worn open. Other jewelry is gold.
Photos: 1 is bracelet; 2 and 5 show the whole outfit. 3 is the basic joggers and tee; 4 adds the bum bag.
What do you think? Too young looking? Shall I look for a better tee? Are these joggers too short? I welcome comments and suggestions.

Patterned top, plain bottom; and plain top, patterned bottom

Here is a recent WIW inspired by Angie’s blog post on shorts. The crops are olive rather than white but paired with a patterned top ( thrifted leopard silk woven tee). The Taryn Rose flats are sort of an olivey metallic and the bag is one of those good for your back, a gift from DS. I felt good in this outfit.(1-3).
4/5 is today’s outfit, again with crops rather than shorts. Print polka dot bottoms, white linen EF top. Jacket is also EF and nearly a match for the bottoms. Flats are old Cole Haan.
Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

WIW: texture with rolled jeans

Inspired by Angie’s blog post today, I am wearing old white Kut Catherine boyfriend jeans, a black shell and black and white EF over layer. The bottom of the top-most layer makes a line at a wide area. This is also probably a last wear for these jeans. Maybe black pants would work better? Yay or Nay?

July Challenge: 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th White bottoms week

Continuing the July Challenge to wear my summer bottoms with a summer top, a topper and accessories, this week featured my white or nearly white bottoms.
Yesterday was the first day. I wore EF bone jersey pants rolled to crop, a sleeveless silk top in cream and with a pattern in black, tan and pale lavender. I wore tan peep toe flats and a long black cardi. Unfortunately I don’t have Angie’s supper power and disaster struck when frozen blueberries rolled down the front, leaving a trail of stains before I was able to take photos. Maybe after a soak in Oxyclean and wash, I will be able to recreate the outfit.
Today’s white bottoms are AT capries worn with a navy and white striped tie front Max Studio ktee, striped Munroe flats, navy bag and an old museum silk scarf (6) bracelets (5) and a Target denim jacket.( in 3/4). I welcome your thoughts and suggestions. The white bottoms are a bit tight in the waist and may go the end of the season or before. I like the striped top for fun with pattern mixing and the diagonal sleeves.
