WIW: Weekend Orange

This weekend I wore orange.
Photo #1: Friday to have a bone scan at a local hospital. You have seen this outfit before.
Photo#2: Saturday dog walking and to do curbside pickup for some picture frames. I paired the orange top with olive pants, rolled up for a warm day.
Photo#3: Sunday to watch our church services on U-Tube. It is only open to a very limited number and one must sign up about once a month. Orange dress is sleeveless and from consignment. The sweater is several years old and first time paired with this dress. This will probably be the last season for these perforated flats. They are summer workhorses.

WIW: some Style It Forward challenge outfits

I am working on RunCarla’s challenge but have not always gotten photos
https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....-challenge and have been trying to incorporate orange. This has been hard as the weather has been mostly warmer and my orange sweaters would be too warm most of the day.
The first photo is of what orange jewelry I have.
Photos 2-4 are all of the same grey pants with three different orange tops, a stripe thrifted tee, a silk consignment summer top, and an old favorite pussy bow blouse in a print. I mostly wore metallic espadrilles and a variety of small crossbody bags. The summer blouse was too cold and later I added a rust Halogen cardigan ( not pictured) for warmth.

WIW: non - denim and non- shorts outfit ETA 2nd outfit

Inspired by Angie’s blog post today, I am wearing a version of today’s #4 ensemble. Pants are EF and green, not mustard. Striped top was thrifted a linen knit. Old light wash denim jacket and old Merrell sneakers that were once white. White star earrings and small denim bag made by my aunt. The last photo shows you a fabulous and comfortable mask made by RunCarla. Carla, thank you so much both DH and I have been wearing the ones you made and sent. DH really likes his. We have been taking advantage of the opening of some local nurseries trying to find certain plants recommended to us by a landscaper last fall. We are still watching to see if some planted last fall are coming back. Some are still iffy.
Is this outfit ok without shorts?
ETA: skirt outfit (4-7) Casual. I would wear instead of shorts. Inspired by Angie’s blog. Denim stretchy pencil skirt (old), white linen shirt usually used as a swim suit cover, EF bronze espadrilles, small bag is gold and silver, large bag is vintage straw. Have not yet gotten a replacement for the skirt. I found that I had no cotton white shirts left, except more tunic length.

WIW: Easy Quiet Layers, #1 ETA: #3 & #2

Pulled this out from the closet today. Bonus: K/R new EF metallic espadrilles in silver. These are 1/2 size bigger than I usually get but stay on my feet. They are very flat so can take a stick on softer sole and have the room for it. These are really more for summer and warmer weather.
This outfit would look better with a tank under this tee or a different top. I may change into a long grey or black cardigan for more warmth. Rain is moving in with cold winds. Shall I keep the espadrilles? The black duster ( thrifted Chico’s )? I plan to wear these white ( bone) pants a lot for summer instead of white jeans, so their days are probably numbered.
ETA: my version of #3 from the closet. Long black skirt and black tank are older EF. Gold toned belt is Italian via thrift store. Espadrilles in a god tone are another K/R EF recent online purchase for summer. The sweater is an older 360 Cashmere . The loose weave makes it almost year round. I will add photos from my phone . The gold bag is an old repurposed clutch for carrying my medical supplies. You are seeing my bed head hair.
Your comments and suggestions are welcomed. Should I kept the shoes? These are actually in my regular size. Are there any tweaks you would make to the outfit? The skirt is stretchy enough that walking and striding is not a problem. Is the bag too big?
Photos 13-16 show my version of outfit #2 although I did not notice until later that the model is just wearing the denim jacket on her shoulders.
Wide crops and mules are EF from last year. Tee is old one given to me and looks like Maggie, our dog, origami earrings were bought last year at a Farmers Market. Bag is a locally made Maruca, sold in Boulder but I found this one in a consignment shop. It holds my meter and phone and glucose tablets all day.. what would improve this outfit?

WIW: Shirt Dresses

I have two shirt dresses that I wore for this post. I may have a sleeveless one for summer but did not see it with my dresses. 1-4 is a denim dress worn yesterday over black pants and bright pink. Shoes are consignment sequined flats with a blue and pinkish red floral pattern.
5-8: the black linen shirt dress worn over bone white EF pants and EF shoes.
This dress is on its way out. These outfits were both worn for home chores and dog walking and a bit of garden work dead heading spent tulips and daffodils.

WIW: Column of Color

Inspired by Angie’s blog post on Friday, I have been trying columns of color while staying in place except for dog walks and some weed pulling.
Missing is Saturday’s outfit, a column of rust. Sorry, I did not get a photo but it was russet EF pull on pants with a rust Madewell pleated swingy top and long Halogen rust cardigan. I used gold metallic flat loafers and a gold crossbody small bag and black face mask.
Photos 1/2: she green EF pants with graphic tee and Philosophy long green cardigan. Face mask is old Gap bandana sized cotton scarf. I also wore green beads as a necklace.
Today’s outfit was a column of mustard, all inexpensive sale pieces with leopard print bag and Croc flats. My bandana is really old goldish print. The bag is larger than usual, big enough to hold all the stuff I need, but fabric, so light weight.
I welcome your styling ideas and ideas for improvement
. My hair is long and awful. If I go outside I wear a sun hat.

WIW: Inspired by Sweatshirt Chic

Inspired by Angie’s blog post, here are versions of #1 and #3 from my closet.
#1/2: pastel cashmere thrifted hoodie with white jeans. This was my last wear for these white jeans. I was constantly having to pull them up. I wore this outfit with sparkly pink earrings.
#3-7: my closet version of #3 the Rocker version. The grey jeans look olive in some photos but they are a medium grey. I realize I should have rolled the cuffs to give them more texture showing the light underside. The sweatshirt is a very old one from Hard Rock Cafe, Maui. I am also wearing pearl earrings and a face mask/ bandana. The black leather blazer is Gap via thrift shop. The black faux crocodile print bag is Elliot Luca.
This is about it for my sweatshirts and hoodies. I did find an old plaid sweatshirt I bought to wear to the Highland games with a black and white check shirt under it.

WIW: Quiet Plaid formulas 3&4 from the closet: Winter Indoor Style

Photos 3-5 are navy and white window pane check with a white support act. I used a white sweater over a white tank for warmth and white sneakers. The pants and sweater are EF. My small bag is a deep grey and maybe white or navy print would be better. If I were going out I would take the large navy leather tote. Big pearl earrings.
The photos 1/2 are a wide crop plaid pant in shades of tan and brown with a gold EF sweater and gold flat loafers rather than heels. Gold hoop earrings.
I plan to have both pairs of pants shortened for warmer weather and taken in at the waist. The brown pair I think need to be narrowed a bit, maybe both pair. What do you think?

More challenge outfits for fall accessories and jeans

This time the jeans are dark olive full length with a leaf motif necklace that was my mother’s and wider leg dark denim jeans with orange and a leaf motif small silk square scarf. The felted wool orange jacket was thrifted last year. It is Petite Sophisticate and I will put on black or dark brown snow boots if I go out in 5 or more inches of new snow. The silk striped orange top is cold shoulder but worn over black silk long underwear. I will keep the jacket on.

Challenges: Jeans and Accessories

Today I am trying to show a jeans outfit for Jess ( KUT From the Kloth with side stripe detail of black faux leather and a fall accessory for Katerina of a large silver leaf pendant worn on a chunky silver chain. The pullover is welted and worn with a bit of a side tuck to create a diagonal line across the front. I wore a black open textured pullover, navy sparkly socks and pewter booties and bag. (1-3).
Yesterday, the pictures ( 4-6) are mainly to show the black Hoxton released hem jeans from last year’s NAS with taupe...EF silk long sleeved simple top with a taupe faux leather open jacket, also from last year’s NAS, and taupe suede SE booties, taupe leather tote and scarf with color block design of taupe, black and grey. The silk top was worn tucked under the jacket. I felt the neutrals looked seasonal and the scarf has an autumn look
