WIW: Early Fall Vests

Inspired by Angie’s Friday ensemble post but dealing with warm weather, I decided to show you 3 warm weather vest outfits. The first ( #1/2) are a thrifted black utility vest with olive pants and silver loafer mules. Very comfortable.
The second (#3) was a rather sheer EF wrap top used as a vest with black crepe EF trousers and a silk print sleeveless top. Shoes are ancient Me Toos.
The third, is a black thrifted Talbots dress several years old, with a long black gillet from Target at least a yeas ago. (4-7). Shoes are silver pointy toe Coach loafers. .Vests are a great third piece for summer. I also like denim vests but both myblue and white ones need to be replaced with something longer. I have a lone silk off-white (bone) vest that is nicely swishy but is at the cleaners.
How do these look? My arms are not toned as much as I’d like. A lot of black here.

A birthday tube skirt outfit

Inspired by Angie’s blog post, I am wearing a tube skirt in white with black dots around the circles, an EF silk chamuse grey top and Naturalizer pewter metallic loafer/mules and little silver crossbody bag to celebrate turning 74. The top will adjust so that the little box I need to wear will not show as much, I hope, but don’t really care. I wish the skirt were a little longer. Is it ok for summer wear? I can wear the skirt in colder weather with boots and a black or a white sweater. Any other styling suggestions? Sorry about the long quarantine hair.

My Soft Wide Summer Pants ETA: white (bone) Pants

Angie’s ensemble blog post this week inspired me to wear a pair of wide cropped soft linen/cotton pants today(1/2). Other photos are of recent outfits. #3 is with a different styling. #4 is white linen pants. I will be back to add soft silk pants from my phone. #5/6 feature black slouchy silk EF pants.
I miss my jeans but these are actually cooler to wear on a warm day and easy to move in. What do you think? Too casual? Should I stick to skirts and dresses? The shirt as jacket in #2 is not the best. I only wore it at home during cool morning and evening temperatures.
#7-9: what I wore for 50th wedding anniversary outdoor dinner. I was going to change into the bone skirt but DH said to dress casually as we will be outside in the heat. I changed into shiny gold espadrilles. I will take the gold scarf but it may be too warm to wear. I have layered 3 floaty tops over the wide pants. Too much?

Sal’s Tee Shirt Challenge #3. ETA today’s tee

Can you stand some more tee shirts? I found out I, who thought I had very few tees, have way more than I thought. Surprise to me, most are woven, not knit. Most are thrifted. Sal, thank you for this challenge. I needed to edit some of these tees out. I see I need to edit photos so will add them soon.
1/2: Silk animal print tee with EF black silk pants and EF espadrilles , Consignment small bag, horn and bead bracelets.
3/4: pink silk woven tee and navy EF pants. Consignment bag and Ugg suede loafers. Gifted summer scarf.
5/6: Lucky yeiiow floral tee, cut to make a tie at hem and EF grey pants, consignment bag.
ETA: Navy and white narrow stripe worn here with grey crepe EF pants, a cheap navy bandana and a navy print fabric bag from a local craftsman.
The photos are not loading. I will try from my phone later. Shoes are Munroe slip-on sneakers from Nordstrom Rack

Happy Birthday, Sweet Angie: ETA 2nd outfit

Happy Birthday! I felt sad today as it was the husband of my best friend of over 60 years funeral in another state and I could not go. This man was a charming gentle giant and had battled pancreatic cancer over 3 years. I will dress in a more festive way tomorrow or some time this weekend,
Today was hot and we had the little grandkids over for the day the first time in months. Tomorrow is supposed to be over 100F.
I hope you had a delightful day.
Today for you I am wearing pearls and my doggie tee. For the heat and to play on the floor, I am wearing long linen culottes.

Tee shirt dress ETA: more Casual Dresses

It”s a Sunday and a dress day. Here is my tee shirt dress entry. It has performed well on a hot day. Tomorrow may be hot so I plan to try a denim shirt waist and to add a photo to this thread
Details on tee shirt dress, an older EF dress in linen and cotton blend knit. Shoes are also EF. A recent sale online purchase and great for summer in place of sandals. These are called “opal” color, a pinky beige with a tiny gold metallic stripe. These are 1/2 size larger than my usual size and fit perfectly. The small bag is a European brand via consignment...Sherpai.
It feels well made with an easy zipper closure and several pockets inside.
My hope is that the light leather detail blends with the espadrilles. Does it?
If needed, I could use a long black linen cardi or big white linen shirt as a topper. I wore this to watch church services on utube. Sad as it is our priest’s last service after more than 50 years as an active parish priest. The new guy, very young, starts next week and has huge shoes to fill, not only in the parish but in the whole community.

Tee Challenge Part 2: Edited to add More.

Thank you, Sal, for this challenge.
To continue me wearing of short sleeved tees,:
#1/2: :a navy with white striped tee with front tie with new white pull on jeans. It was warm so I did not wear a tank under the tee as usual. Big mistake, tummy shows at slit. The jeans are NYDJ and need to be shortened. The fabric is thick and too warm for most summer days.
What do you think?
3/4: silver head to toe. These jeans hit pretty low although they work with my glucose meter this way. Tee is EF knit and cardigan is thrifted, the tee is a bit oversized at XS and jeans and cardigan are iffy, shoes are EF silver espedrilles and a half size too large, Small shoulder bag is from a consignment shop. Too much? Does some of this need to go?
5/6; a column of rust. EF pants rolled up, Madewell pleated woven tee,
Citron kimono top/ jacket, Naturalizer flats and consignment bag. Made = by-me rusty pearl necklace and apple coral earrings from a trip to Hawaii.
This was comfortable and seemed right for both dog walking and a trip to Target with mask and added bigger silver and gold bag with small one.
Suggestions? Your comments and thoughts are welcome,
ETA: #8: Ted Baker pink floral tee. #9/10: Statue of Liberty tee with EF white linen crops, KS bag, white flats white star earrings. I am tempted to cut a slit I. The bottom of this tee and tie it in a square knot like the tee in #1. Should I or leave it?

Sal’s Tee Challenge:ETA another tee

Thank you , Sal, for this challenge. I am not sure that these tee outfits bring me joy, but some elements did. First, I am mostly using non-jeans for bottoms. The jean style rarely works out for me any more. An exception is the first outfit. These are jogger jeans with an elastic/drawstring pull-on style. The other pants in this set of 3 outfits are EF pull on crepe pants rolled up a bit.
First outfit.(#1&2) This was chosen for a cool rainy day. I also mostly wore an old thrifted navy linen blazer. Jogger jeans, Chunky white New Balance sneakers (not shown but old). top is a navy with white stripes EF linen tee/sweater hybrId. I started out wearing pearls with this outfit but lost an earring and removed them (not shown). The joggers stay in place and are not fussy. I enjoy wearing the tee/sweater and the sneakers were comfortable for dog walking. i felt that the blazer and pearls dressed the outfit up a bit. This made me happy.
Outfit 2: hotter day so an old Carole Little woven silk tee with sunflowers on black background, Black silk EF lantern pants and EF black espadrilles, Ted Baker sunglasses, gold metallic cross-body bag. This outfit worked well and the pants were kind of stretchy at the waist with a side button closure. It was easy access to the stomach for injections. The espadrilles are very comfortable for walking and the silk was just the right weight for the warm day, even with a cotton tank under the top. I love the sunflower print and added amber colored glass dangle earrings and green bead and gold bangle bracelets. These sunglasses fit the best of any I have.
Outfit 3: thrifted nylon tee that has a water color type design in greys, black and mustard. Tiffany sunglasses. EF crepe pull on pants in graphite grey, rolled to show EF pewter metallic espadrilles. My bag is a grey Bagilinni. Very happy with all pieces...cool and comfortable. Worn to take our ballots to the early balloting box outside the library and dog walking. I love the espadrilles. I plan to add more tee outfitS during the next week.
I welcome your comments and suggestions.
Photos 5/6: another woven tee, Ann Taylor Loft, EF wide jeans and mules. Bag was a gift from Japan. Necklace a gift. I am not happy with the polyester fabric and ditsy floral pattern of this tee, but it is a cool day so it is not too hot to wear. I like the curved hem and colors. The horizontal stripe in front helps the bust to look larger, a very good thing.

Pattern Squared Outfits X 4

Angie’s blog post had me looking through the closet for patterns squared.
One is an older outfit with sweater and bag. ( photo 1)
The other three outfits are a blue leopard sweater set and two skirts with matching tops.
Photos: 2-8. A Philosophy skirt and top with sheer poncho-like topper that is a near match (see #8). The skirt and top are from The Rack 2019. The topper is also 2019 from Thailand via a consignment shop and is a great weight for summer. I got it to wear with a rather plain navy dress. Photos 5-8 show details of the outfit. Worn to watch Sunday Mass on UTube.
Photos9/10: a very old sweater set that was pulled from the Donate bag for this excercise.
Photos 11/13: an old Carole Little 2 piece dress kept this long because it covers but is cool for summer. The last photo is a close up of the print, a small animal print. Shall I edit out the any shoes and last 2 piece dress? Anything else? I welcome your comments and suggestions.

Style It Forward Outfits

Another Style it Forward challenge set.
Day 1: photo 1/2. Watermelon red pants with grey and a dark grey cardigan. Floral shirt
Day 2: photos 2/3. a thrifted floral jacket with the same watermelon pants. Under the jacket is a shirt with a watermelon stripe
Day 3: photo 7. same floral jacket with aqua pants
Day 4: photos4-6. same aqua jeans with aqua summer top and black long cardigan and flats and bag. Photos 5/6 are close ups of the bracelets I wore with this outfit. Earrings are also large and silver.
I pulled these pants out of the donation bag to wear because I crave the colors. I need to look for replacement colored pants that will work better with my glucose sensor. Right now I am wearing it higher than normal so the low waisted pants hit below the meter. Should I get rid of the pants ASAP or wear them occasionally when I can?
