Inspiration from ROG

Most of the outfits that ROG comes up with for me include hot weather pieces, my own fault because I need to create more finds from my winter closet. I decided to use some ROG created outfits and switch warm weather items for something similar for cold weather.
1-3: the sweater and aqua bag were in ROG's plan, but it used my rayon blush blazer which I switched out for a JCrew blush stadium coat, blue denim Bermuda shorts became blue denim jeans, and pewter ballet flats were switched for pewter wedge booties.
4: a warmer long-sleeved winter white EF turtle instead of a silk tank. The rest is ROG's plan.
5: I wore a long sleeved tee under a pale grey open weave pullover instead of a bone tan; and olive skinnies were subbed for olive cropped cargo pants. The rest is ROG.
Do these outfits look ok? It is bitterly cold right now with some snow, so being warm enough is a priority.

The tie scarf: an attempt

Last summer I came across a photo of this man wearing his tie differently and wanted to try it but it was way to hot. This week I looked through the very few ties I had available and matched one up with a striped shirt and with plaid jeans.
It was harder than I thought it would be to copy the look so that the widest part of the tie would show. I paired all this with a pullover navy sweater but a jacket might be better. Success or fail? I welcome your thoughts and suggestions.

ROG's Wild Side

Today I decided to ask ROG (Random Outfit Generator) to create an outfit. It has a sense of humor as shown in Angie's April Fools outfit, but I was impressed with its restraint in not picking my cheetah bag. These shorts do require a belt, so I could not resist another shot of leopard. Adding Finds is difficult from my phone so I'll add them later. I just had to show you what ROG hath wrought.
What do you think? Do I dare wear this out?

WIW: Cobalt/Black/Grey

Following Angie's ensemble today I shopped my closet and found a couple of possibilities. It is still warm and humid here, so these are light weight.
1: old EF slouchy silk pants, EF grey silk tank, Halogen cobalt jacket, EF shoes, Target tassel necklace. The jacket is a bit too warm although it is rayon.
2: all EF version. Same except that I subbed an EF sapphire linen cardi for the jacket and added an EF silk scarf (consignment).
Do proportions work? How do you feel about the trousers?

August Challenge Week 4: hot Fall capsules: red and brown

Another fall capsule for the warm days of September and October. I probably need to add more neutrals like denim clams to make this workable. The jeans will be too warm unless rolled.
I welcome your thoughts and ideas

ROG Outfit in blue and bone EF

I needed inspiration to dress for a friend's birthday lunch today. This is exactly what the outfit generator came up with and it worked well for a hot day and over air conditioned restaurant.
The bone -colored bottoms are EF lantern style pants.
The shell is also EF and silk. The cardigan, also EF, is linen and a thrift store find.
Flats are old silver Dr Scholls and very comfortable. Bag Is Kate Spade.
Is the cardigan too long for this outfit? Too short? I welcome comments and suggestions.

July 4 SYC outfit possibilities

Inspired by Angie's ensemble ideas for the 4th:
1/2: what I wore today and could wear tomorrow. Graphic flag tee tank overred tank, white Kut Catherine boyfriend jeans, white Fossil belt.
3/4: same jeans and red tank with EF dark blue linen open cardigan.
5/6: directly inspired by Angie. Faded blue denim rolled jeans, ivory Ella Moss sheer tee ( recently from consignment) worn over old ivory silk Classiques Entiere tank, red flats.
What looks best to you? What changes would you suggest? I could take a tomato red or a white bag.

June Challenge: ROG pick ETA Outfit Pictures

Back home and I decided to let ROG (YLF's Random Outfit Generator) pick a outfit from my closet today for a casual day of catching up on laundry and errands. This was the result, the second try after ROG's very wearable first outfit was too dressy for my day. I will add photos wearing it later.
The grey sleeveless top and blue cardi are both linen EF. The rolled jeans are similar to the Find. I hope that they will not be too warm today. The bag is old and ECCO sneaks are rather new. I will need to add a belt to hold up the jeans and half-tuck the long tank. Comments and suggestions appreciated.
The photos don't do justice to the blue color of the cardigan. It is actually less pale but probably won't be worn much today. In the end, I went with the shorts in the last photo to be cooler. It was still 90F at 10pm last night.

WIamW: With ROG help

I needed some inspiration this morning and consulted ROG, Greg's Random Outfit Generator using Finds I had collected to represent my own wardrobe. Below is what came up.
I am wearing Isaac Mizahi for Target linen trousers, Trove pink silk tee, Born gold loafers, Alexander McQueen leather jacket and Target tote.
Rain is forecast later and so I may add the bright pink DKNY coat.
I weicome your comments and suggestions. I'm still not sure about this color pink on me. Is it ok? Many of these pieces are several years old. Does anything look too dated?

WIW: Saturday's ROG and thoughts on my week with ROG

Here is today's ROG outfit. Jeans are a sort of substitute for the finds...still pale grey but heavier for the cool weather. My blush tee is from Target, old black knit Bomber, red Kate Spade bag, and Calvin Klein flats.
I will post in sections to keep from losing it all.
This week with ROG I learned that:
1: it really would be great to have all my clothes in one closet or available all year, or at least at these transitional times. ROG picks from many capsules...casual, dressy, and different seasons. For this excercise I tried to stay true to the picks, but substitutions could be made while still staying close to the inspiration, such as the jeans today. A long sleeved tee could be subbed for short or sleeveless, etc.
2. ROG is a valuable tool for figuring out how to integrate a new piece into your wardrobe. I found new ideas for wearing the long bone EF vest.
3: I am encouraged to use more of my things, especially footwear and bags.
4: using ROG, there are still a lot of style choices: to tuck, button, roll, or scrunch or not; accessories like jewelry, scarves, specs, hats, tights to name a few.
5: Using ROG will test your comfort zones.
